Biblical fundamentalist wrote: <quoted text> how does that definition prohibit your rights at all. It doesn't limit you right to work, speak, vote, live together, or any other way. If the government were to deny anyone with your hair color the ability to legally marry, unless that marriage was a loveless marriage of convenience, would you think that your basic human rights were being denied? Would you worry for your family, since they are denied all of the protections and security that the marriage license provides? Would you choose to form one of those loveless marriages strictly for the benefits and teach your children to to the same? Or, would you fight for your yourself and your family, and demand that this insane and harmful law be overturned?

Wondering wrote: <quoted text> Someone recently said: "marriage is the purview of the state. Always has been. Always will be." Hey, it was you. Most states say you don't qualify. And that's why there there are legal battles at the state level. The state can't make arbitrary and harmful laws and expect them to go unchallenged.

Equal rights and protections are the american way... No one can tell me that denying any one equality protects anything Let's make a deal you guys can keep the title marriage.... How ever equality is basic. If we define, legally, marriage as being a religious as opposed to a civil union than institution than me and my wife will be happy to leave it and join whatever legal category legal and equal gay unions might fall under. I don't care what you call it love is in the heart not in the title....

Sorry, but it always amazes me that people have your attitude living in a State that allows Same-Sex Couples to marry and that this has been a reality for the last 8 years.......in fact EVERY MARRIAGE LICENSE ISSUED IN MASSACHUSETTS LOOKS THE SAME FOR BOTH SAME-SEX AND OPPOSITE-SEX, right? You're right........people can love who ever they want and marriage is not a requirement......it's also not a requirement to procreate in order to get married.......so, you really have no point, do ya? In fact.....you have been posting on Topix for over 4 years saying the same garbage and in reality.....you haven't done anything truly about it, right? In fact, you have stated that you don't really have a problem with Gays or Lesbians getting married, just as long as they keep everything about Homosexuality out of the schools that you don't have kids going to anyways, right?

Don't blame the people of Massachusetts for gay marriage, we had no say in it. Marriage licenses looked different when I got married, they changed them to accommodate gays. The answer to your question is no. My marriage license was issued in Massachusetts and it does not look the same as what is being issued today. 2. Not one that you would understand or agree with. 3. Actually, I have. In fact, just posting here and telling people about things like David Parker and Alemeda Lesson 9 are doing something about it. I have been thanked by people for posting links to this information. 4. Before gay marriage came to the state it was believed it would come to a ballot, it didn't. I wouldn't have voted one way or the other. Today I would.

Let's hope civilization doesn't crumble because an application says "Party one/Party two" instead of "Husband/wife" or whatever.

Your comment was that you did not need marriage for love and commitment. I said no but you needTo get legal rights of married people it is..... In other words both osc and ssc can "anyone they want to, be as committed as they can be, marriage is not required." But to get the legal rights and coverage of a osc married couple... marriage IS required.

As you rightfully SHOULDN'T of had.......I mean if I'm not allowed to vote on your right to marry, why should you have a say in my right to marry? It should look different because you got married prior to 2004, right? Since 2004 though, all Marriage Licenses look the same, right? Again, because a parent is upset by a book, that means that more is being taught than just plain tolerance, right? Or do you continue to get your information from MassResistance as well? I'm glad that Massachusetts has NEVER put this issue to a vote.......just because of folks like you who can't handle people who are different getting married!!!!
