Mitt Romney says he wants to talk about the economy in this presidential campaign, including his call to repeal the Dodd-Frank financial regulation law. JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s $2 billion trading loss in risky transactions isn't the sort of conversation he had in mind.

"Anytime you have a development that suggests businesses take unnecessary and unwise risks, you give ammunition to Democrats and cause problems for the Republican narrative," said Stu Rothenberg, editor of the nonpartisan Rothenberg Political Report. "I think Romney will have to deal with it."

The Fed chairman has repeatedly sounded a warning that congressional inaction on what has come to be known as "the fiscal cliff" could dent growth if left untended. "It is very important to say that if no action were to be taken by the fiscal authorities, the size of the fiscal cliff is such that there is, I think, absolutely no chance that the Federal Reserve could or would have any ability whatsoever to offset that effect on the economy," he said at a news conference last month |

FOR THOSE THAT CANT COUNT ,$16 trillion dollar debt is equivelant to hitting a million dollar lottery 16,000,000 ,thats sixteen million times.or hitting it every day for 43,835 days ,or EVERY DAY FOR 120 YEARS..and like geitner said"thats todays debt"....and does not take into account the real debt in 5yrs, 10 yrs or 20 years...its been a bi-bartisen effort...BUT ITS YOURS TO PAY BACK..the end of the world may be our only out.

Dodd-Frank prevented JP Morgan's loss exactly how? Fascists tend to hold the moronic belief that if only they got to pass one more regulation micromanaging the economy, all the ills that they pretend to address would somehow go away. The net result is that the economy gets hamstrung even further, with little, if any, protection beyond that already afforded by laws against fraud and theft.
Have Corzine, or one or more of his flunkies, been arrested yet, or is he too Democratic for justice to be done? |
