There's a catch, though. Jones' picture shows her in her blue Florida prison uniform.

this is called a good start - now how bout banning things like TV, congical visits, weight rooms, internet, and all other things currently available to make prison life "more bearable" for these losers! They are there for punishment, not a retreat! no wonder there are so many repeat offenders!

i have to really agree with you on that one. i believe prisons today are not a place to punish offenders and teach a lesson "do the crime pay the time" but today prisons cater more along the lines of a vacation retreat. i have to pay for their "priviledges" and what's the use in having a prison when they get back on the street just to go and do their crime again? here's my solution: no matter the crime take away their comfort and replace it with hard drop to your knees sweaty field work. chop, hoe, plant, harvest and the farmers would save alot of money on machinery and chemicals that they would'nt have to spend and the farmers would be sure to get that product out on the market and make a hefty profit....i wonder if the sheriff's department's, local jails, and prisons would ever consider that to their inmates?

I worked at a local camp many years ago and the "offenders" (we called them inmates) there had more than I had access to in the real world on the outside. Weight room, 3 meals a day, social time with no time constraints, internet, cable, free college eduaction (we had to bring in a tee pee for religion practices!)...the list goes on. And we have enabled them to keep offending! Oh they had a crappy childhood, their mother was awful, the dad was no where to be found, etc etc. Still enabling! I have a friend whose son is locked up now for drugs, robbing from her and her deceased mother and she blames herslf for his issues!! AND hell I don't know maybe she sucked as a Mom, but HE CHOSE to do those things! She raised him right he just fell in with the wrong crowd and started screwin everyone over. No one has to be responsible for their own actions anymore and no one takes ownership for their behavior today! Well you made me blah blah blah. Or my favorite "what about me" My parents beat our A** if we acted crazy! No one was scared of DFS or 911 when I was growin up. I joke now "if my Mom or Dad would have been scared of DFS or 911, my Mother would not have had the right to die, they would have locked her up for discipling (beating our as*, slapping our smart mouths, making us do chores) her kids and she would be doing hard time today!" Thats the difference! I have 4 kids and I cant take on my boys while they are awake because they are too big, but I WOULD get them in their sleep if need be!!! And I believe they know it. Now they are probably going to pick out the nastiest nursing home they can find when I get to that age for me, but I intend to make them do somethin with their lives prior to that! Or maybe I will be proactive and spend their inheritance before then.
Why should we have to support the "offender" hell they dont support me or mine. Let them work to pay their housing and food cost! they have learned how to have their Mommmy send money to their friends so the state doesnt take thier money etc. Oh and I know one clown who has 5/6 kids he doesnt pay support on them. Never did until Momma number 4 or 5 took him to court. Well he still doesnt believe he should have to pay to support this kid! Can you believe that one. Well he thinks he is going to go to go see his appointed probation officer and she's going to lock him up for non payment of his child support. Those of us around him could only get so LUCKY!! He believes that he was short changed by his life choices and thinks the state paid this momma, why should he have to pay it back? So not only do we have to house those in jail, we have to pay support for dead beat dads. I am sure that will be an upcoming topic for this forum.
I think we should send them to Iraq or Afghanistan to fight along side each other, not with the ones who are in the military the honorable way and if they make it back we look at the sentencing structure then. If we have to pay for them let them do something to get paid for. Hell maybe they would like it better there and stay
