1 1. Gas at $4.00/gallon. GOP failure because they did not use their majority in both houses and the Presidency to start drilling in the last 8 years. They blew it. 2. Illegal immigration out of control. GOP failure because they did not enforce our border properly. They blew it. 3. No new refineries built in the last 20 years. We could have started but the GOP blew it by bowing to the environmentalists and Democrats. They blew it. 4. Global credit meltdown was totally NOT the fault of the GOP, but the fault of lax banking policies and stupid people buying more than they could afford. The people blew it and is not my nor the government's problem. But,,,now we're in for it. I truly agree that the Dems will win both houses and probably the Presidency. However, that will be the end of the USA as we know it. It will be gas lines, double digit inflation, 15% unemployment, health care lines - because that is what the Democrats WANT. It makes the government more powerful. |

Gas is at $4 a gallon because the dollar is weak, and OPEC is loving it. The dollar is weak because our loving, liberal media made a circus out of the housing situation (notice I didn't say crisis) and freaked everybody out. Our foreclosure rate is slightly higher than it was a couple of years ago and all of a sudden, we're in crisis mode. Wall Street has gone crazy because speculators and futures buyers are out of control, snatching up crude at high prices. Anyway, its not the GOP's fault folks. Admit it, we are just plain dumb and gullible. Wait, wait, "the sky is falling!!!!"

With all the problems with the current state of mind of the American people, all the Dumbocrats had to do was to nominate a centrist or slightly right leaning member of their party and it is a landslide. It is actually on her web page, but here it is in an article for you, enjoy the pudding (proof included at no extra charge!) “Two years ago this week, you stated that House Democrats had a ‘commonsense plan’ to ‘lower gas prices,’” the letter said.“In light of the skyrocketing gasoline prices affecting working families and every sector of our struggling economy, we are writing today to respectfully request that you reveal this ‘commonsense plan’ so we can begin work on responsible solutions to help ease this strain.” The letter is signed by Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio), Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), Conference Chairman Adam Putnam (R-Fla.), Policy Chairman Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.) as well as other members of leadership: Reps. Kay Granger (R-Texas), John Carter (R-Texas), Tom Cole (R-Okla.) and Eric Cantor (R-Va.). In a press release dated April 24, 2006, Pelosi said,“Democrats have a commonsense plan to help bring down skyrocketing gas prices by cracking down on price gouging, rolling back the billions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies, tax breaks and royalty relief given to big oil and gas companies, and increasing production of alternative fuels.” The letter cited policies put in place during the GOP control of Congress that the Speaker claimed had raised prices on American consumers to benefit oil companies. The House GOP leaders’ letter points out that the price of gasoline has spiked $1.18 since Democrats took over in January and stands at $3.51. |
