When so many are trying to get into College and can't afford their tuition, you have Obama who wants to be President of the United States making school available for ILLEGALS and forgetting about the rest who are standing behind him. Is this who you would vote for?
I forgot, he wants CHANGE. CHANGE for ILLEGALS!

Obama supports La Raza's, the "DREAM Act," which would mandate states to offer in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens -- thus providing them with benefits not available to U.S. citizens from other states.

those 'illegals" probably much like yourself who have-in most cases-grown up in the United States their entire lives, have studied enough to be college-ready, and have demonstrated a commitment to hard work by getting to that very point. Documented or not, colleges want folks that have the willingness to work and study and the intellectual preparation to be successful in their coursework.

If you can't get into college, it's because you didn't work hard enough. Don't try to blame those who came here legally or illegally and worked harder than you and took your spot. You wouldn't be worried about your spot in college if you had done your part to secure your entry into college, it's not that hard. If you would have put your heart and soul into getting into college and into getting a good scholarship like they did, you wouldn't have a problem, now would you?

i have little tolerance for illegal immigration, but the dream act is for illegal children who had no choice but to come here with their parents. these kids worked their butt off to get into college, and they shouldn't be punished when they did nothing wrong, but be innocent victims.

Thats exactly what they want you to think! This gives more rights to illegals, than it gives to hard working, tax paying LEGAL americans! You must be stupid.......LOOK IT UP!!!

Excuse me, but you have no right to denigrate me and call me stupid because you don't even know me. i refuse to steep down to your level and call you names, and participate in this kind of immature childish name-calling game you initiated. And by the way, I know I am not stupid because I have received a 4.5 GPA in high school, and I am now attending a pretty good college. I really do hate to brag, but I just wanted to point out that you must be careful with what you say. As for your comment, I really cannot control the fact that your view is different from mine, but I just want to say, that I looked at both sides of the arguments of the DREAM Act, and after looking at both sides, made the decision to be for the DREAM Act. I suggest you do the same, and see that there are far more benefits for immigrants AND US citizens, for the passing of the DREAM Act. i strongly suggest you read about Marie Nazareth Gonzalez, Martine Mwanj Kalaw , Tam Tran, Allan Cameron Ph.D., and Jamie P. Merisotis . If you have a heart, I'm sure you would support the DREAM Act.

My god, if you are going to argue against the dream act , at least use updated facts ... The in-state tuition is no longer included in the Dream act. geez...

I do not even know you and I am ashamed from you. I suggest YOU "look it up" because undocumented workers pay the same amount of taxes and social security your parents do, the difference is they do not get ANYTHING in return--no health care no social security no benefits NOTHING.

What makes you legal? Have you not ran a stop sign? Have you not had an alcoholic drink when you were under-aged? Have you never downloaded music illegally? Have you never broken the law? You think you are so much better but I bet you if someone takes your Social Security Number away you will not survive in this country.

Please do yourself a favor and think before you speak.

My parents brought me to this country at the age of two. It wasn't until High School that i discovered i was not "legal" I was in cheer, track, ASB, Student class president. I played baseball little league, watch speed racer and Mr. Rogers growing up, My life was no different than any other "American" I am now 23 years old. I have a B.A degree and i've never been arrested.I cant work, I cant drive, I cant even go to a Club or buy alcohol because i do not have an ID or a Drivers license. Try living your life that way. The DREAM ACT is my only hope, like the hope of many others in the same situation. The opportunity of legalization for "illegal" immigrants is only after obtaining at least an A.A we are not taking anything away from any of you. The opportunity for education is for EVERYONE. We love this country this is what we call HOME. I am an AMERICAN, i just wasn't born here.

Some young adults and children are illegal because they're parents brought them here illegally. Some even (shock!) came here legally and have only become illegal because their parents failed to fill out documents. You're going to punish them when they had no choice to come here and for not being of legal age to fill out documents for themselves? Not many people are that informed about immigration and what exactly defines "illegal." So before anyone says anything for or against "illegal" immigration, they should do their research. P.S.- Not all immigrants are hispanic. There are you know, Italians, Germans, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, etc....

Cristina, getting into college isn't the hard part as you point out. Paying for it is. Illegal aliens are able to go to college IF they pay foreign student rates. But they don't want that. They want IN-STATE tuition and access to scholarships and loans supported by taxpayer money. And that's where your argument breaks down. Any illegal alien student who merely wants to go to college here can return to their homeland and apply to come as a foreign student. But they wouldn't get the financial aid, would they? And they wouldn't be guaranteed a green card and the ability to work either.

"Some young adults and children are illegal because they're parents brought them here illegally."

So what? When they reach the age of 18, THEY'RE legally responsible for their status. The decision to remain here illegally is theirs. And just why can't they return to their homelands, when their parents managed to come here ILLEGALLY and in many instances not knowing the language?

By the way, I'd be amenable to the DREAM Act IF the parents or relatives of these "students"--the ones who brought them here--are required to return to their homelands, never to be eligible to come back to the US. After all, if the argument is that saying these students shouldn't be "punished" for the acts of their parents, then shouldn't the PARENTS be punished? After all, with the DREAM Act, the parents would benefit from their illegal acts by eventually being sponsored for residency by their legalized kids.

I to was brought here at a young age, participated in clubs in HS, stayed out of trouble and worked fast food jobs to pay for college (some times 2). Now i have a BS degree in Engineering and can only hope to work at KFC. I wasnt born here but i grew up here, so when i turned 18 i faced the choice of leaving my home to go to a foreign land or hoping for some politicians to open their minds. I am not latino, american, mexican, white, brown, black, or illegal. I am human and as such i think i deserve a chance

Many of these children were brought here as infants. Tell me, would YOU be able to cope with being exiled to some foreign nation you had never experienced? These children can be considered Americans just as we are. Please think about all the aspects before criticizing someone on wanting to stay here permanently. And as for going back and returning legally... Easier said than done.

Not quite the case. If "illegal alien student[s]" would "return to their homeland" and try to "apply to come as foreign student[s]", they would be barred from entering the country for no less than 10 years.

Dream Act needs to pass...I have taught numerous immigrant children whose parents are undocumented. Many of these former students graduate from HS with honors; this is home to them and they want to be successful, but cannot afford to go to college and cannot receive student loans due to their status. They cannot obtain employment to pay for tuition due to their status. They did not make the decision to come here illegally - but they are here and need support to become contributing members of society. Please support the Dream Act!

Daily Horoscope for January 6

Capricorn

Don't let anyone stand in the way of your progress and don't reveal personal secrets. You could very easily become run down at the moment. An empty promise could leave you feeling sad. If you're working today, there could be some problems: stick to your own work and make sure that someone doesn't try to take credit for your efforts.
