Little Sympathy for 39-Year-Old Wife of Georgia Teen

I feel sorry for this lady and her husband. The laws should have been tightened earlier. This is not the first incident of a woman raping a minor.

I see no reason for having compassion for as 39 year old child molester. You can bet your bottom dollar that if I tried to marry a young teen-ager, I would be tossed into jail immediately, unless, of course, I happened to be a school teacher. There seems to be a lot of "understanding" and compassion for those women.

While it was not against the marriage law at the time, it may have been against the child-molestation laws. The article does not mention that. Nevertheless, the young husband stood by her, so it does not look as though he was forced or raped.

Common sense tells you that someone who is not an adult in the eyes of the law cannot make their own decisions on marriage. It seems though, that so many are making decisions on whether or not to become fathers and mothers at less than a legal age. Now that's a big loophole. If their genders had been reversed and a 39 year old man got a girl pregnant, the parents would likely be screaming for him to marry her.

Assuming that the older man is financially responsible, I would agree with you. If not, they would probably be trying to keep them apart. In a case like this, I get the feeling that we only get to read about a very small sliver of the whole story.

Some states, like Florida, allow a 14 yr. old to decide which parent they want to live with in child custody cases. In my opinion, they are too young to make such a crucial decision. 17 should be the age on that one...been there done that with my husband's child. And she turned out to be a worthless POS like her mother.
Why can't a 15 yr. old get married??? For the same reason the Florida law is wrong. They are too young and immature to make such a life altering decision.
And this 39 yr. old woman...wasn't she able to get someone closer to her own age? I guess not, so she went after a hormone raging 15 yr. old. I don't think rape applies here because he was all for it, what 15 yr. old boy wouldn't be?
But she shouldn't have custody of her child because she doesn't have the mentality to distinguish between child or grown up. What makes her think she can make a good parent? She will have 2 kids to raise then...her son and her husband.

I wonder how well the sale of her book did. She could have a pretty good nest egg from the book. Maybe I should try Amazon.com .

Only if you are semi-hot and willing to do everyone in the court making decisions would you have compassion as teacher.

Maybe it ain't cool but then neither is a child raising a baby. I am talking about the many 14 to 16 yr. old girls who are getting pregnant. They are throwing their lives away.

just as a thought if some 39 yr old scroat got MY teenager pregnant him marrying her would be the LAST thing on my mind, peeling the sick bastard off the road after I ran over him a few times would be.......... regardless of gender it is WRONG.........

I have what I refer to as kids that hit on me when my friends and I go out. Whereas it is flattering, I have a 19 yr old daughter and it is still strange. I find it amusing - she gets pissed which just makes me laugh.

I try not to burst their inflated egos too badly and just dodge them, if that doesn't work I let them know I already have 4 children and don't want 5.:)

what a sick hoar...throw her in jail for life...she is a pedophile, and nothing more.
