I think we should not be forced to buy health insurance. How much is it going to cost us? I can barely pay my bills now, what am I going to not pay to pay this insurance if it becomes manditory. Are the illegals going to have to pay, right now they get better health care that the rest of us. If I am forced to buy it, I will use it, sure some of you are going to say that is wrong, but if forced to pay, everytime I feel bad I will go to the doctor and use it, because I won't be able to turn on lights in my house because I won't be able to pay my electric bill, or type on this computer, because I will not be able to afford internet. What little I pay for AOL isn't going to be close to what the insurance will cost. I say we use the foodstamp money given to the people who pull up at the store and load government paid groceries into thos NEW cars!!

I have not been keeping up with this stuff, so I will have to ask my hubby what is going on. Don't watch much t.v.
I became disabled in 2006. I was eligible for medicaid with a share of cost that was $600.00 dollars.
Now how can one person go to a primary care doctor and burn up $600.00 dollars worth of treatment?
solution; go to the E.R. once a month for whatever reason, they will burn the card up! SAD!!
I was "NOT" eligible for "MEDICARE" for two years after being determined disabled!
When it came around because of my health and the amount of times I have to go to the doctor and the medication's, I had to take it.
I also had to choose a plan and then they took $96.40 out of my check each month!
The doctor visit's were:$5.00.
Medication's: FREE!
Specialist:$50.00!
NOW, the doctor: is free.
Medications: cost.
Specialist: still $50.00.
I am still out $96.40 each month!!!!
Again, I am disabled, try that one on for size!

In St. Johns we have a Council on the Aging you must have one for Duval. Anyway, my mom needs expensive meds but she went to council and now gets hers for free from the companies that make the medicine. Contact the one in your area.
We are Tri-care and we pay for our insurance now.

The doctor visits are:$12.00. To the Doctor they say and there is only 1 pain management doctor locally.

Medication's: 3.00 generic 9.00 name brand, 1 month supply as long as it's in the formulary

Specialist:$12.00 Only 1 local Orthopedic Surgeon.

I think anybody that plans on gitting health care should have insurance. I cannot stand going to the E.R. and having to wait behind a bunch of people that don't have insurance and have no intentions of paying their doctor bills. I pay for health insurance for my family and I, so can you. Most jobs have benefits, use them.

If it smells like a rat it's a rat! Obama and Congress want to pass a Healthcare Bill that Obama himself has admitted to only partially reading and Congress hasn't read either. Do you think the American public has a chance of reading it before going to Congress...well the answer is no. NO, because they do not want you to be informed because if anyone with half a functioning brain would not ever want Government ran Healthcare. And, futhermore, Obama and Congress would not be covered under this Government run Healthcare Plan. Now that's what I always called not having any skin in the game or a dog in the hunt! IF, you think the lines for medical services are long now just wait, I'm buying stock in tent companies because people will be buying them by the thousands so they can camp out at the doctor's office and hospitals while waiting for any service!

I am not sure about all this health care right now.I do not want it to be like Canada and other countries.I work and pay health coverage for me and my husband. We have a big deductible. Then we have huge co-pays on medications, plus co-pays at doctors office. What makes me so mad is all these people on medicaid who are younger than me and healthier than me who pay nothing. I wonder if these sorry girls having bastards are going to have to get off their backs and on the feet to buy health care for them and their bastards.I am so sick of seeing these people go to doctors and drug stores with their medicaid cards and pay nothing.I have heard nothing about these people. And when I am in A grocery store with my coupons and bargains, they are buying buggys of steaks and paying with food stamps. This country needs to go back to old values. If you want kids you pay.I have writen this in other threads. I know a couple with 5 kids.Raised on welfare. When these kids got about 14 15 they started having kids. All on the tax payers money. Last count they had about 12 grandkids. Can you imagine what this 1 family has cost.

Yeah I cam imagine what the cost of all those are.
Just for food stamps, it is about 130.00 per person.
The medicaid, may have a share of cost on it and sadly, that is what people are doing. They go to the E.R. to burn up the share of cost, so to speak, so then can go to the primary care doctor and have all their medication paid for.
I did not see any comment on the house payment. Does the state pay for that also?
And what about the welfare check?
So lets see: We will use a family of five:
Food stamps=130.00x5=650.00 (?)
Medicaid =100.00x5=500.00 (?)
Housing =125.00x5=625.00 (?)
per month =1,775.00 (?)
IF ALL THE ABOVE IS, "A FACT"
Per Year =21,300.00 (?)
Wouldn't you, a hard working person "LOVE" to have the "government" just hand you 1,775.00 per month? To help "you and "your family" along!
Life would be so much better and easier!
Just GRAND, if you get the above, and YOU WORK, under the table.
Now multiply the 1,775.00 x 15= 26,625.00
Remember the 1,775.00 is a monthly figure.
Just for five people and "my assumption", as far as, medicaid and housing.(?)
I am not sure of the "allowance" for "medicaid and housing" per person, per month.
Call your local Department of family and children and ask, they should tell you.
They should also tell you what deductions they use for you to qualify.
Just a Thought!

When you add it up like that it is a lot.But you forgot to add when these people get pregnant.the money starts then.Doctors,hospital.The cost to have a child is huge. This same woman that i was talking about told me as soon as her daughter had her baby, some one came in to sign her child up for WIC,health care and a check. If the goverment would stop making this so easy for people i do believe they would stop having all these babies. Also i read on another thread about a man who was making $1538.00 a month. This was for a family of 2.He was upset because that put him $21.00 over the limit and they stopped his $300.00 a month food stamps.

Yeah I read about that man or family also. That is a crying shame!
You are correct, I did leave out the pregnancy, the birth, and so on. Oh yes, the wic! I have been wondering why seniors citizens couldn't get milk with a wic coupon?
My mother was a milk freak, she should of been eligible for wic.. as now I should be for I have reached the senior citizen age! and now that I hear the price is going up again.
It dropped for awhile in the grocery stores but I hear it's going back up.
I feel the government should allow the disabled and senior citizen a break on the cost of milk.
Don't they say; Milk does a body good?
Well, if you can't afford it at $5.00 a gallon then hand me just a few of the wic coupons for milk!
Oh yes in deed they are quick to sign people up for anything and everything!
Someone said that getting food stamps is not easy!
It is apparent this person must not know how to lie or beat the system.
In some cases the system needs to be beat, in other cases not so much.
If you would like for me to explain why I feel the system needs to be at it's own game, respond and I will be glad to tell you.
Take the time and thought if you can and figure up my figures along with what you put on there and let us see in black and white just how much money is being thrown across the board.

I think it's crap that taxpayers pay so that illegals can get great health care by using the emergency rooms for their primary care physicains. I think it's unfair and dirty business. My forfoathers who came to this country followed the rules and assimulated. And learned to speak english too!

Well the illegalls do not have either one.If they are in an accident with you, your tough luck.Your insurance will have to pay. When they go to the hospital with no health care, you pay.Higher premiums,co-pays and deductibles. So we as tax payers in the USA have to cover every body.

If you cannot afford the car insurance, you can choose not to have a car and take the bus, rail-train, bike, etc....( I did this years ago which left me enough for food, rent, utilities, etc.....)
If you cannot afford the health insurance, you're stuck and will be burdened with fines. This is basically a tax on "being alive".

Do we need some sort of healthcare reform? yes, but a gov't takeover is not it. The gov't is already in to much of the private sector.
