Ban the guns already!

Using _facts_ from these sources--BATFE, "Annual Firearm
Manufacturers and Export Reports;" FBI, Crime in the United States 2006; Bureau of Justice Statistics; Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (National Center for Health Statistics); National Safety Council--the "surprising" facts are summarized here: http://tinyurl.com/37xv8x |

40 year old native, where did you find those statitics that you are stating as fact. And don't give me the "they can be found anywhere" story. The NRA tracks this and does not have stats that agree with your statement when a person had a permit.
|
||||
Ban the first amendment for this clown. |

Do these guys think passing another law will stop one of these guys from carring a handgun?
Oh gee I was convicted 4 years ago so I can't carry a gun when I go and do the armed robbery of the drug store. Yea right. Just remember we passed15 million laws cover the first 10. |

Politics!
The person trying to get a concealed carry permit is not the guy you should be trying to stop. Guns will always be available to mental patients and criminals. No law can stop that from happening. The people trying to get a permit to carry have to go through a lot of checking before a permit is issued. I don't think a criminal would want to attempt sending an application and getting fingerprinted. As a matter of fact I would trust someone who legally carries a gun before anyone else who hasn't had a background check. Don't forget, anything can be a deadly weapon when used to hurt someone. I think all SUV's driven by people talking on cell phones or putting on makeup at 60 mph should be outlawed. I also feel that all people above 65 should have a mandatory yearly driving examination. For every one shot to death there are hundreds killed by the stupidity of other drivers. I believe the word "accident" should have a tightened definition. |

You're 100% right. Those idiots in Tallahassee think criminals are going to abide by the law. Fat chance. The only way to bring down crime is to make all prisons hell holes that a criminal wished they were never sent to. Take away ALL prisoners rights. Go back to the way prisons used to be where they used to punish instead of trying to rehabilitate. You're dealing with rats, treat them like rats. And finally, remove all judges that care more for the criminal than they do for the victim are lenient when passing out sentences. Our prisons have become a joke, criminals know it, and those morons in Tallahassee are only passing laws that penalize law abiding citizens. |
||||
I don't know where you get your "facts", but any statistics recorded and released by UNBIASED sources will inform you that homicide rates do not correlate to weapons bans. This is known throughout the world and it is the primary reason why guns have not been banned in the US. When the day comes that someone can actually prove that allowing responsible gun ownership is directly correlated to homicide rates than the debate will have merit. Until then, banning gun ownership from violent felons, criminals and the mentality ill while reducing the methods by which guns can be purchased illegally will solve more problems than punishing those who are law-abiding, tax paying, responsible American citizens. |

Florida's law for the concealed weapons licensing of private citizens is a disaster and needs to be more than modified, it needs to be eliminated.

I get so sick and tired of those advocating 1 size fits all laws.
You see or hear of a violent crime and assume the solution is to outlaw guns. New York and Washington have the strictest gun laws in the country, Puerto Rico a free associated state of the U.S. also has decided on strict gun laws. Please go to the FBI murder stats and you liberals will be shocked to learn all three, have the highest murder rates in the country. The Scum, will always find ways of obtaining guns legally or not. Those law abiding citizens with gun permits, only want a fair chance in the event we are confronted with danger. If any believe, Law enforcement officers are the solution to deter crime, you need a wake call. Police admit, they can't do it alone. |

prime example I didnt comment here at first went further down and I was reading this article Suspect in Boynton Beach carjacking shot after I-95 chase so curious I open it and what do you know some people taking their Impala to be detailed to someones home and a group of guys stopped them pulled out their guns and are trying to take the car then they fire upon the police hummmm wonder if they had a licese for those guns?? so I agree with Bob throw their butts in jail don't waste the taxpayers money on a trial they blatenly tried to take something that didn't belong to them and put them in a rat hole jail make it so miserable they will beg to come out and go to a straight life becasuse they won't want to go back to such a place. Sounds cruel yes but you read this type of article over and over every day and its getting worse to live here anymore. People will get weapons regardless of permits its when you find someone with one and they are doing harm in some sort of way PUNISH THEM TO THE FULLEST make some kind of example out of them so that the next generation coming up will think twice about the consequences. We need to get Tuffer punishments here in Florida obviously it isnt or this kinda stuff just wouldnt keep going.

It's easy to see how a native miamian living in Boca could be confused. This bill will not take guns away from people who mean to do harm to you. It will only take guns away from those of us who decided thta we wish to have an even chance at defending ourselves or better yet, prevent the opportunity because the perpetrator knows there is a chance that I might have a gun. A very good chance right now. So despite your "idiotic comment" idiotic comment, guns are our only protection....unless of course you think the legislatures will come down and protect you. Please. |
||||
Absolutely correct. The thugs and hoods will have an open range if any of these measures pass. I wonder how many thugs have a concealed weapons permit from the state? What a joke...Anything to give in to the minorities and liberals. That's right |

Read todays online edition of the Miami Herald. Thank God the 85 year old Grandfather had a gun to save his sons life. CASE CLOSED.

Here is what I propose:
Retract the useless (and cash cow, pork barrel) Registered Sex Offender proram and use the money to install a voluntary Gun Owner internet program. That is an internet site I want to be on. Let the criminals scour that before they invade my house. |

I am a gun toten, card carrying member of our legal concealed weapons community and I am all for keeping guns out of the hands of convicted felons, folks that have pending felonies hanging in the balance, folks that have been hospitalized and deemed mentally impaired, etc. etc.Any responsible mature person would agree. What this article seems to reflect is that the organization that issues these CWPs are letting a lot of things slip through or there is more to the situation that this article is presenting for the sake of slanting their anti-gun owning agenda in their favor. I don't know the answer to that but I do know that the vast majority of CWP recipricants are level headed law abiding citizens that don't abuse their permit privileges. Does the system need to be looked at carefully? Of course! They should always be working to perfect a better, more concise way of policing the membership to cull out undesirable elements from the ranks of gun license holders. It only takes one bad apple to make the whole barrel stink! As for the shooter at Virginia Tech, I did not think he had a CWP, am I wrong?
|

|
this is a waste of time. Let people defend themselves! Why does the legislature have to spend our time and money on non issues??
|
||||
Yes there will be and you must be the first moron to start, Living in boca with your spoiled little kid gangs etc, if anyone should be carring it's you. Where did you get all those stats from? You had to get them out of your own head, because no one else seems to know what your talking about, including yourself. |
