Future of casinos in Florida may come down to jobs

One casino in PA paid $271 million in taxes to the State for just their slot machine operations with most of this going to local communities for schools.
This doesn't include taxes from other gaming operations and casino license fees.
PA restricted the number of casinos and their locations throughout the State to equalize the income to each casino.
Could the State of Florida and the counties and towns use funding without hitting the homeowners every year?

That's not what his post said. Read it for what it states, not for what you assume it to convey.

If you don't aprove or wish to participate in casino gambling - stay home- it doesn't stray from the point!

Rick Scott decided against the idea of expanding casinos throughout the state his concern was that it isn't a good way to balance the budget. He wants to consentrate on education with more focus on elementary schools -regarding safety

Scott stated he doesn't want to count on gambling funds for the State and that he doesn't gamble. Based on his thinking maybe we should not have Lowes or Home Depot in Florida since I'm sure he doesn't do any home repairs or lawn work.
Besides the needed casino revenue what is he giving up?
Property taxes on the casinos
Construction jobs for the casinos
Jobs for operating the casinos
Taxes from the rooms that will be used by those using the casinos
Business for the restaurants and shops that those using the casinos will bring

Lawyers [do not!!] belong in political office. This only has to be pointed out because of the distruction of Daytona Beach. Scott is lawyer. A picture of Daytona from 1976 gave hope to some people that left a comment, then it was taken away by..well we won't see that again? It becomes arguement or depression to have hope. The if you build it they will come speech won't work. Meanwhile back at the ranch.. if dreaming of something doesn't work were lost. What does this have to do with reality? The newspapers [DBNJ in particular] are reality! They won't report or speculate that Wagner is in trouble. He's dis connecting himself from every crooked scheme. He will go to jail- he has too! Larissa is under pressure by the feds in the Tamaris/Gardner sex scandals. report that!! It's a touchy situation but reporting nothing is wrong!

Right! There would have to be an agenda. One small casino could begin a business & Job incubator. This would save distressed property -ect- What about another casino? 2 properties formally belonging to Bray & Gillespie [backruptcy=2008] were sold, both of them hotels. They're in Ormond Beach but so...what! 14 properties formally belonging to B&G are for sale, none of them are hotels, they're unoccupied lots- shops & restaurants. It's amazing to think what corruption money could buy if it was used the right way.
