Not to fear - even if the Floriduh legislature were to legalize real casinos in the state the dim bulbs that run Volusia (pronounced 'Da-Loser') county would find a way to 'outsource' and screw the whole thing up while spending millions of local tax dollars. Churches have no fear! Your Bingo gambling is safe!

Someone on Mid-day mentioned that Daytona Beach will never be Miami. Some residents don't want to change, the city gov't doesn't want to restore unless they interfere in every aspect of business. Did it really work for Lilian Place? No because you have to use -this- color scheme. And who are they to decide. The churches in Volusia are an organized form of cash flow by people that have been brainwash. Too many churches.

Maybe not in Volusia Co. yet? Now even Governor Andrew Cuomo is considering bringing casino gambling to the five boroughs if he's able to end New York State's ban on that venue of gambling. Even he realizes the idea could provide New York with a much-needed revenue boost -- possibly a small fortune. Hopefully local politicians will figure it out and get this county out of the dark ages.

City Officals? Frank Bruno won't even try to save Ponce Inlet-& he lives there! Josh Wagner- If he doesn't go down for the second street market deal before he allegedly got out, he'll go down for his envolvement in his father's pill mill. Edith Shelley, was on the radio [Bernier] 7 times Shelley's comment was, I have no knowledge of that. Example- who owns the old Lloyd buick Dealership? 30 + people were found living inside some time later, with dirty syringes on the ground. No news about Rob Gillilands ex-wife but she stabbed a man to death & was released on the stand you're ground rule. It looks bad for Rob Gilliland. He panders to anything & everything Chisholm wants- as does Casandra Raynolds. Kelly Whites husband,[Jack White Land Co] buy's property at a low cost after the tax dollars have be wasted. If Kelly White was innocent she wouldn't be a Daytona Beach City offical- but that's open for question. Chisholm is up for yet another job, & rumored to be in very poor health. Good luck trying to find your way out of the dark ages if you think they might be able to do it! They can't even save a pier.

Al Smiths skating rink was an excuse to fill the parking garage. Keep your fingers crossed that the money is used to save Oceanwalk Shops from complete bankruptcy!

Former Beach Patrol Officer- Bobby Tamaris went to court. Gardner is next. Both are using a very weak defense at this point.

The people who would be interested in going to this proposed Taj-majal style casino in Miami would never dream of setting foot in that POS dog track up in Daytona. Francati is full of it.

This issue should be decided locally in South Florida, not by some out of area bozos strictly interested in protecting their own interests to the detriment of ours.

Leave Casino gambling out of Florida. It just brings down our lovely natural state. Make our state a destination for the woods, beaches and springs. Gambling tears down society by addicting people to a losing game. You won't win in the end; that's why it is there--to make money for the house.

Life's a gamble for many every day and ya can't eat beauty. You ASSume the worst, based upon? If you don't approve of or wish to participate in casino style gambling stay home. The potential boost to the state and local economies as well as jobs is desperately needed. Several other states have or are in the process of legalizing casino gambling based upon the potential revenues that it will generate. Let the people decide.

You like the idea of having a casino you like the idea of bike events, you have an interest in improving quality of life. But when somebody disagrees, with your opinion you tell them to stay the F' home. Only certain people are allowed in Daytona? Isn't part of deciding if a casino is a good idea, based on yes or no? Some people want them some don't if you're intent on spreading a message to other people to stay home get a job in local gov't

It's a state of panic for the economy in Daytona that's obvious. How many casinos? One would be a good start to get an answer of weather expanding the idea is good or not. It could be good, but the idea might be that lack of business is creating panic wanting a large casino - 3-4 or 5 casinos. Try to not discount the idea of what daytona could have besides gambling. Shopping centers [like] Bellaire Plaza could have slot machines & Black-jack tables- not a bad idea! When gov't is finished [and they have serious legal battles that ar'nt going away] This could bring in investors. Las Vegas does it..why not? Let Ormond beach use their tax dollars that are put to slightly better use to minimize the risk of Daytona creating somthing that could or could not work. Daytona needs to increase the odds of success the city has gambled enough & lost. It might be a road to recovery.
