Paying kids to go to school, what a waste of money. The only pay they should get is an education. So kids that don't go to school should get paid, but the kids that work hard to learn and get an education get nothing. If they are going to reward for slackers they should pay double for the kids that want to be there and want to learn.
I work at a school and see kids wandering around the campus avoiding administraters and security all day long. MOST not ALL are in school until they are 21. Why, because they have a learning difficulty, if their butt was in class and paying attention trying to learn they just might graduate at 18. There is little if no disipline in schools now days. Reward them with being suspended for 3 days, that makes sense. Kick them out of the place they don't want to be in anyway. We recently had a student hit a teacher. 3 days suspended and 2 week of detention. Wow that will teach them to respect athourity.

They do get paid.
My kids comes home every week with book orders, fundraisers and whatever else the school can con us out of to support them. Every day she comes home I ask "So, how much will it cost me today?"
These schools spend more time figuring out how to make money than they do teaching. And considering the fact that schools are taking more time off with these damn holidays and early releases it's just as good as getting paid.
Whart a stupid question, most kids today don't deserve any money.

Most schools should be reorganized to teach very basic english and math and then prepare them for jobs needing filled. A very bright medical doctor commented that 80% of college time was spent avoiding college and school responsibilities and learning fluff and forgettible trivia. Get our kids into apprenticeships, training programs, military careers, and other careers. The system is broke and needs to be scrapped and rebuilt.
