Dear Resident:

Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 3, the Town of Stratford will be conducting its 4th Annual Election Day Food Drive with support from Cub Scout Pack 177 and the Stratford Board of Education.

In these tough economic times, it is crucial that we work everyday to collect food as we help to provide the necessities of life to our neighbors and families who might otherwise go hungry.

You may make a donation on Election Day between 8am and 6pm by dropping off canned goods or non-perishable foods in the yellow collection barrels at all of the polling locations.

Monetary donations will also be accepted. All collections will be distributed to Stratford based food pantries.

I encourage everyone in our Community to not only exercise one of our most precious constitutional rights on Election Day, the right to vote, but to also take a moment to remember their neighbors, who may be in need.

Sincerely,

Mayor Jim Miron

Lord knows I'll be making use of the soup kitchens and food pantries come Dec 15.

I'm also looking for a good used car but no little azzz smart car please

Sources report Dick Miron's girlfriend was given a job in tax collector's office several months ago.

The other employees in the office were not happy with her lack of office skills.

She has been out sick for the past several weeks.

UNCONFIRMED sources say she is still getting paid. I don't believe that union has that kind of paid sick time coverage.

Jim Miron, Stratford’s soon-to-be former mayor. Totaling up all the votes cast for victorious Republican John Harkins and indy contenders Dom Costello and George Mulligan, the town’s first mayor was the loser by the largest margin of any incumbent in the region — spurned by well over a 2-to-1 margin in one of the best voter turnouts among area communities. Now that’s rejection.

BIGGEST WINNER: John Harkins, in part, for the whopping margin of victory he amassed, but also because we’re betting that even his most ardent supporters never dreamed the victory would be so large in Stratford’s crazy four-way mayoral race.

he is responsible for many of the abuses that took place during his reign of terror. the buck stopped in his office by his own choice-if you choose terrible managers to manager with you you have terrible management. he chose very very badly.

You have no idea what you are talking about. The unions have asked for NOTHING but to be able to do our jobs better. There is no secret deal, that is just another lie you were told by the Miron campaign. They realize that there will be run-ins with the town, but they will be fair, not vindictive. For everything you were told about Miron there is a big story behind it. All you heard about was how he spent money on the fire houses for repair and callback. Had he listened to firemen they could have saved tons of money by preventing the damage. You didn't hear about the milion dollars in savings the FD proposed to the town, but was ignored by the miron administration. They love there jobs and want ot do it better. They aren't the greedy people you were told they were.
<quoted text>
Harkins knows the pension issue is unsustainable. Unless the fire/police are willing to take future cuts, we will go broke paying for it. Milford has their police/fire in 401k style pension plans, same has to happen here.

i am looking forward to the lid being peeled off how miron manipulated money from one account to another to pay or things that didn't need to be done on ot. there are some things that it is necessary but there are others...like planting trees at 11pm...that could have waited for the light of day... and he has lost his opportunity to bury the missteps because his finance director bailed on him...no wonder he has been mia during the day--he he only shows up under the cover of darkness. in the mean time the taxpayers want to know where our town vehicle is(and expense card) since he is not conducting town business.

Something they fail to Remember with the Federal Investigation which BTW has been ongoing for the past 2 years..many will run..but they can't hide their dirty azzes. Daily Horoscope for December 31

Leo

There's an erratic quality to the day, thanks to the Full Moon in emotional Cancer, combined with a lunar eclipse. Loved ones are likely to behave in ways you hadn't counted on. The only way to cope with this is to be as flexible as possible. Someone might change an arrangement at the eleventh hour so you have to think on your feet, or others may be determined to do their own thing even though it doesn't suit you. Get any arguments out of the way quickly so you can enjoy your New Year's Eve celebrations with a glad heart.
