According to the Pew Hispanic Center "the unemployment rate for Latino immigrants in the third quarter of 2008 was 6.4 percent, compared to 6.1 percent for the total workforce and 9.6 percent for Latinos born in the United States."
The hardest hit group is now American born Hispanics, the second is American born Blacks.
Can someone explain to me why Mexican-Americans support illegal immigration.
That could be that American born hispanics and American Blacks have learned that there are too many government asistance programs, why work? Why there's some that don't even care to study while the 'illegals' are ready to work in low paying jobs and some are even in Harvard. I don't defend them, that's just the way it is in many, many cases.

I actually side in Manhattan Beach. As a black man, I'm 100% American. My ancestors help create this country and fought for every benefit and honor now bestowed upon us and all other minorities.
You as a Mexican cannot make that claim. Instead you cockroaches hid in the shadows like the cowards you are.
If you were even half ass American or intelligent you wouldn't support illegal immigration or illegal aliens. Instead you are an ignorant Mexican, too dumb to realize massive illegal immigration from Mexico equals us becoming a corrupt third world dump just like Mexico. The same place you and or your ancestors fled.
Instead of supporting stupidity, why don't you gather a group of Mexicans and copy your black role models, return to Mexico and fight for equality and a better way of life in MEXICO.
Copy the black role models? When did they return to Africa to fight for a better life? I missed that part of history.

You should do YOUR history. They did NOT speak Spanish here for hundreds of years. That statement is laughable, as well as FALSE. And, learn who was *really* here first. I'm providing links. You're providing nothing more than conjecture. Read it:
Nordic explorers came to North America hundreds of years before Columbus was even born. They never claimed any of the land that was populated with natives.
How does one 'discover' a continent that is full of people who certainly 'found' it first? Colombus claimed land that belonged to someone else. He opened the door for Spain to plunder and murder and enslave for several hundred years. Why would anyone want to celebrate that heritage?
http://www.science-frontiers.com/sf127/sf127p...
the first humans to walk on the American continents were the Solutreans, a Caucasian race of people who traveled from Europe tens of thousands of years before even the so-called "Indians" traveled into North America via the Bering Straits, and whose remains, including the highly-disputed Kennewick Man and Clovis Point, have been found in recent decades. Surprise, surprise!
Archeological sites in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and South Carolina (SF#125) dating back 15,000-18,000 years demonstrate that the ocean-going Solutreans had footholds in the Americas 3,0006,000 years before Asian landlubbers trekked into Alaska.
Those above mentioned states ARE in the USA.
That is one of several controversial theories that has not held up under DNA review. The Clovis were from central Asia and are the most accepted first people with large permanent settlements. The genetic diversity of some Dna samples from similar time periods show that people from Africa,Japan as well as Polynesia also were present in the new world as well (north and south America).
http://www.centerfirstamericans.com/who.php
http://cogweb.ucla.edu/Chumash/EntryDate.html
But the point is, America was discovered long before Columbus or the Spanish showed up to claim it.
Refresh my math...the year 1492 was BEFORE 1585, the official date for English colonization of Roanoke Island, right? Spanish was the first modern European language spoken in the "New World". This cannot be disputed, no matter how hard you try to justify your point.
You are right that the Spanish brought much misery and death to the New World. Like it or not, their legacy shaped the Spanish speaking countries around the world. Nothing we can do about that either. The cultures that resulted from the blending of native and Spanish cultures are among some of the most beautiful around the world. Like it or not.
I watched the Ice Age Columbus documentary too, and was quite intrigued. That is an awesome discovery if it holds up to further scrutiny.
Now here is the problem. You want to give credit to the Solutreans as owners of the North American continent even though the documentary clearly states that they eventually merged with the new people coming over the Bering land bridge within several thousand years. But when it comes to the idea of Spanish/Mexican territorial claims in the Southwest you sure are quick to point out that there is no valid claim. How is that? Let's see, there were Spanish missionaries, title holders, Mexican peasants/land owners as well as native tribes, which at the time would have been Native Mexican tribes due to being in Mexican territory. While Russians and English explored California too, the Crown laid claim to the north coastal provinces of California in 1542. Settlements in Loreto, Baja California Sur were established in 1697. So, the Spanish language was spoken way before English in the Southwest.
You can't take bits and pieces of history out of context. You really would benefit from reading more of our combined histories, US-Mexico.

According to the Encyclopedia of Georgia History and Culture,“as early as 1820, black Americans had begun to return to their ancestral homeland through the auspices of the American Colonization Society” and by 1847, the American Colonization Society founded Liberia and designated it as the land to be colonized by all black people returning from the United States of America. By the decline of the Back to Africa Movement, the American Colonization Society migrated over 13,000 blacks back to Africa.
The History of Liberia is unique in Africa as it started neither as a native state nor as a European colony, but began in 1821 when private societies began founding colonies for free blacks from the United States on the coast of West Africa. Liberia gained independence on 26 July 1847. With an elected black government and the offer of free land to African American settlers, Liberia became the most common destination of emigrating African Americans during the 19th century.

Another great read would be the twenty six treaties between the USA and Mexico, but, of course the treaty between The Republic of Texas first making Twenty seven in all.
The rest is just ancient history!

Dear Illegal Immigrants,
Please note that you are, in fact, ILLEGAL. That means that you are breaking the law. That means that you are right up there with drug dealers who poison our kids and pedophiles who prey on them. You have NO standing in the U.S.! You make it difficult for the people from your own countries who actually have respect for the laws to attain their LEGAL citizenship! If things are so bad in your country, CHANGE IT!!! Why would you think that you could start a new life built on lies and deception and teach your children to be valuable human beings? You can't! Walk the walk before you try to teach someone to do it. SWhame on you all for belittling your children so!

Truth about this subject is the mexicans that come over raise kids to come to America, work, save, then send money nome. They send the money home to their parents, their wife, and then after many years they go back to Mexico and their sons do the same. They have a great welfare system they made up themself....Family unit takes moneyfrom America because the employees will take advantage of their hard work skills no matter if it is wrong or right...I talked to these men. Yes, this what they do....bye bye american jobs and money
