Why is this even up for discussion? Doesn't Colorado have a few bigger problems that need to be solved? While he's concentrating on beer who's working on the issues that are causing real problems for the citizens of Colorado? Jobs, education, crime, illegal felons, welfare fraud, DPD beating up innocent people, housing market decline etc. etc. Wow, the alcohol content of beer. How many of your lives are affected by that?

I generally applaud any effort to reduce the intrusion of government into our lives. I have no problem with this. It does prompt a question for the governor. Why stop there? We have all kinds of stupid red tape in our state. Let's go over all of it and throw out ALL that isn't vital.

I'm guessing it's because the rest of the needless red tape doesn't adversely affect his buddies the bar owners.

This actually affects more people than you think. Allowing full strength and craft beer to be sold in grocery and convenience stores takes business away from the mom & pop liquor store that relies on that kind of business. You know every town has them strategically placed near grocery stores for a reason. Usually walking distance to avoid wasting a car trip. Of course people want the convenience of a one-stop-shop, but it's important to remember that these larger grocers (Albertson's, Kroger, Safeway, etc..) are all owned by out of state companies. This means that money would start being sent out of our state's economy, giving us even less for the important things like education. This is a pretty big deal that is being undermined by the age of convenience. There is also the fact that the many craft breweries in the state, that partly rely on the smaller liquor stores, would have a much harder time selling different varieties of their beer. This is because all the product placement and shelf space is laid out by someone in some corporate office, in a different state. They're going to go with what sells the most nation-wide (Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada, New Belgium, etc..) and make it very difficult for the local guys to get shelf space, even in their own towns. Please think about this one carefully, as it could have a decent effect on our economy...
