Paparounis wrote: <quoted text> "Smart people"? Who exactly are they, and what have they predicted that has been accurate? Let's start with, "If we don't pass this stimulus, unemployment will reach 10%, but if we pass it now, it will never go above 8%". Ummm... 10.2% as we speak? Or how about, "We will create or save 4 million jobs". As it turns out, only 650,000 are currently claimed at a taxpayer cost of $150 billion so far. That's almost $231,000 per job, and as NTRPRNR1 points out in her post, the 650,000 is fictitiously exaggerated, and the vast majority are government jobs to boot (overhead, not economic growth). This reflects an abject failure, because any moron can "create a job" at a cost of $231,000... especially a government job. Long term? It reminds me of a silly "Beverly Hillbillies" episode as a child. Granny had the cure to the common cold: Drink her potion, stay in bed, drink plenty of fluids, and in 10 days or so you'll be good as new! Long term? If we wait long enough, in spite of government intervention, the economy will heal itself. Of course you will credit Obama for the "recovery", just as the "Beverly Hillbillies" credited Granny. I "comprehend" just fine. If you need help pulling your head out of the sand, let me know. Could you really be that stupid to presume that anyone could be spot on in exactly predicting those percentages? Are you really that stupid to presume that all of those predicted job increases could come in such a relatively short and limited time frame? Your problem is that you do not have the mental capability to understand that economic programs of this magnitude can not be accomplished almost overnight, and are unable to even comprehend the mechanisms which are in play!

Even when our economy is so bad there is the Mentality, I have mine and I don’t care about yours! This is America what happened? When I served my country did that count if I need help now? When I worked and paid in taxes for 40+ years does that give me the right to use the systems that were presented to me as “Services you have Paid in for”?. . We have to many judges and not enough partial juries! Maybe if we experienced a Turkish medical system or Jordanian system everyone would be thinking differently? I know that we need to do something about the nations resolve but at the same time maybe we should each one go back to “Love Thy Neighbor”! Selfishness and greed have become predominant forces in America. This is why we are all so fortunate that the Democrats and Obama have come into power, because they truly care about the less fortunate in our society! The next 7 years will produce by far the biggest shot in the arm for poor and middle class Americans, that this country has seen in over 70 years!

Vote Green Party wrote: <quoted text>Oh please. Stop playing dumb. A lot of middle-class hard working citizens found out the hard way they could lose their retirements in a heartbeat, but the fund managers keep charging away fees and dues and are unaffected. 401ks and IRAs are a scam to a lot of people that dump money into them. More are figuring it out. But hey keep defending the elites that dont pay their fair share. There is a reason why Republicans are down to 20%. Even the tea-baggers (a 3rd party) I hear are gearing up to run in Florida. I support their run! Vote Green Party wrote: <quoted text>Sure why not. Do you see a problem there? "Every business transaction done it this country comes with a charge or tax - whenever you buy or sell something. So why is it that Wall Street - when they SELL stocks pays no fees? And what does a 401k or ira have to do with it. Most people know they are being screwed there with all the fees and such. They also know it could disappear in a heartbeat. Again folks its simple. Too many of you are just brainwashed not to see it. Put a small fee when a stock is sold - our treasury would be full. Again you act as if the managers DONT take out fees all the time on these 401ks and IRAs already. Jeez how ignorant." Very well said.

Can you imagine if this amount of money is made by all these celebrities, how it would pain them to help out with health care. How can people even think of spending this amount of money. Some give to charities, Bill Gates & Oprah do their share, but it is a write off, they have to account for some of their earnings. Obama has it right with what he is doing. Do you suppose any of these millionaires collect social security? Think of the athletes with their millions. Put some of this money back into the economy. Michael Jackson's funeral burial garments were $35,000.$2,000 spent on wardrobe for family.$2,000 spent on ushers clothing.$3,682 spent on framing a picture which stood beside the casket.$16,000 on flowers.$30,000 spent on cars & security & almost $22,000 spent in restaurant after funeral to celebrate "funeral repast." The list went on & on. This country has gone nuts. Time to share the wealth!! LOL!

You fall into the pie trap. The tax pie should be a lot bigger in the first place if the elites paid their fair share. Also Most companies in US don't pay federal income taxes http://www.greenchange.org/article.php... Does this seem fair to you? Still think the top 1% pay their fair share? Wow another scary statement. So if you believe this then I guess you believe that the rest of gov should be taken down. And look who would take its place the military. What your alluding too is a road to a military coup. Let me guess, because the military and int sec is so much smarter then the citizenry - it might be in our best interest if the military just took over everything. No - you are 100% wrong. It would be the first time they would pay any taxes, they wouldn't like welfare as much. Can you imagine people on the system having to pay taxes themselves for once instead of just receiving tax money? I see them using their welfare cards at McDonalds and 7-11, those places aren't cheap. How come they are all fat, even the men, yet they're on food stamps. They have to eat twice as much as thin people to be that big and 7-11 is expensive for fast food. How nice they can do that, drive around in cars for free and buy food for free from fast food restaurants. I see they call 911 when they don't get the fight chicken meal.
