Calif. Schools 'Indoctrinate' Children with Pro-Gay Messages, Claims Resolution

We actually had a bulletin that went out at our schools when a rumor was started that the public school was going to have an assembly to teach our children about tolerance and the gay lifestyle. The school district must have had a ton of response. Their announcemnet was they "were not having any such assembly and had none planned."

The day they do plan to do that my child will not be there but I will be out front protesting.

I don't blame you, how dare they force anyone to be tolerent. You must have been livid when they let black people sit in the front of the bus too...

This is what comes of removing parents from the process of deciding what is proper and fitting to teach their children. When the mores and ethics of the professionals become so distant from the mores and ethics of the community something has got to give. God willing, it will be the socialist government whose agenda seeks to rip control of the hearts and minds of the children from the influence of their parents.

If I am not mistaken this bill was a result of a situation where some gay boy in California was murdered by a classmate (another boy) when he received a Valentine.

Clearly the whole thing was wrong and any form of violence as a response was wrong. However, to turn that tragic event into an excuse to tells students Mark and Bob living together is normal just is not acceptable. A message of non-violence would have been the correct thing to do.

SB777 simply prohibits discrimination against, and use of materials which reflect adversely upon people due to "disability, gender, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic that is contained in the definition of hate crimes set forth in Section 422.55 of the Penal Code."

That's all it is.

Looking at the article, I see that the southern baptists are ones attacking the the CA school system. Having graduated from a southern baptist college, I KNOW what hypocrites many members of that faith are. Southern baptists are as relevant to contemporary society as the spinning wheel.

Keeping children in the dark about facts and reality is wrong. What you find are those growing up to believe they have a right to judge and condemn other law abiding citizens just because they are different.

So what about children with gay parents? Are you proposing that the schools never mention that some families have two moms or two dads? That is both denial of truth, and discrimination. They do not teach that being gay is good or bad, but that it simply exists. That is a cold hard fact, and is completely relevant. If you do not like it, too bad. There is nothing you can do to change the fact that there are children with same sex parents. If you want you children to go to school where the truth is not allowed, then send them to a Christian school so they can be set up for failure.

and I still havent figured out who Mark or Bob lives with is your business? anyones for that matter.

When I was just a young 20 something, I and a friend rented a house for the summer close to where we were working. two guys. very simple. two straight guys. and wouldnt ya know it, less then two days into our stay one of the neighbors some redneck type (yes we have them around here) had the nerve to call us fa$s! and abominations - because we were "living together"! he jumped to his conclusion based on what I have zero clue.

well, since this was the early 80's, the notion that we couldnt take care of this ourselves didnt cross our minds. and that redneck, well lets say he never looked at us direct in the face again. we taught him about tolerance. the hard way! and then we flaunted our hetero-debauchery in his face that entire summer.

the problem in this country has ben tolerating this lack of tolerance among a certain class of people in this nation. and Im sure if that jerk had, or could have kids - he would have taught them the same intolerance.
