Then, tell me where in the bible it defines marriage as strictly between one man and one woman.
Then show my God's "intense dismisal of homosexuality" without using a book that also says you can't touch a woman during her period or that you can't eat pork.
Then prove to me why christian morals should be allowed to be made into federal law in a country that guarantees that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"

They didn't leave England so that they could freely be a chrisitan people. They left so that they could be free to choose their own religious beliefs without being forced to do what the government said.
The founding fathers may have had their way of doing things, but the point was that when they were getting the shit-end of the stick, they demanded that changes be made. Guess which end of the stick you are NOT holding on the same-sex marriage issue.

Fine, that may be the truth, but if it is, you cannot use it as a reason to ban same-sex marriage! If so, then we need to ban single parents, divorcees, and widows/widowers from raising children.
Since we DON'T have rules about who is and is not allowed to have kids, this is a completely moot point on whether gay marriage should be legal.

That doesn't mean Christian's can't contribute or vote according to religious beliefs. Of course we can! The 1st Amendment is FREEDOM OF RELIGION!

"Freedom" doesn't mean lets all do as we feel when we feel like doing it. With freedom comes responsibilities, deep responsibilities. We all have a responsibility to maintain our country's standards and way of life. Even if that means somebody's feelings are going to get hurt in the process.

The problem is not whether their is "proof" that sexuality is a choice or innate, but rather why do you require proof either way?

For the record, I believe it to be an innate naturally occuring variation of human sexuality. I have no proof of that, only my own observations and lots of circumstantial evidence. I am aware of no scientific proof that exists either way, but the leading medical & phychiatric professionals believe it to be innate as well.

Again, I think it quite telling that you feel there is a need for us to have proof it's not a choice or we don't deserve to have any rights or protections based on that. Yet nobody seems to have a problem giving special rights & protections to religion (which is cleary a choice).

The whole "choice" thing has been used by the anti-gay side as a way to attempt to minimize us. It's easier to demonize a group if people believe it's a choice rather than something they're born with.
