Much of the turmoil with Jerry Brown is his "Governor Moonbeam" tenure in the past.
The reason so many of the Unioncrats and Chicano Anarchists who own the Party now are against Brown is that they think he would be fiscally conservative by comparison to today's way way way far to the LEFT State Dem Party.
Brown as too Conservative? That alone defines the decline of our State's Democratic Party into the failed mess of gangsters which have been tearing the State apart for the last decade.
Dem voters who care about our States future will support Brown. Progressives who lust to destroy our State will object to Brown.
Interesting post... to think that Jerry Moonbeam Brown is actually to the right of today's CA Democratic Party is horrifying.

As I see it, the Democrats want to spend money on social programs. The Republicans want to spend money on prisons, freeways and water projects. As you know, Arnold just insisted that we borrow another $11.4 Billion. This is completely irresponsible. There is no provision in that bill to pay for this lavish project.
We need a Governor who will stop excessive spending from both Republicans and Democrats. As I see it, Jerry Brown is that guy.

Yes one of the lasting things from Jerry Brown's administration is that he killed the California Freeway system. Remember the dirt for the overpass on 5 near Red Bluff where the 99 freeway was supposed to come in from Chico? How about all the people that have been killed on 99 at the Railroad tracks at the north end of the freeway between Live Oak and Yuba City. And all those short freeway pieces in Sacramento that go nowhere. Those are just a few examples of Jerry Brown's legacy. Wasted money and dangerous highways.

If we are talking about a horse race, I definitely will put my money of spunky Meg, she will have no problem outrunning the chrome-domed, senior member of California's career politicians.

It is those deals with public employee unions that resulted in them controlling the state and its budget. Those deals ruined our schools. The public employee unions are already filling Brown's campaign coffers. If Brown is elected he will block any effort to reform public salaries and pensions. In dire economic times he will not furlough state workers. Even if they cut every state program that helps the disabled and devastatingly poor the stats public employee obligations will still devour the budget. That is the structural deficit.
"Jerry Brown again? Some Democrats express unease"????
Only some? Governor Jerry "medfly" Brown poisoned the Golden goose [State].
Oh BTW, Meg Witless, the woman that doesn't bother to vote, doesn't seem much better.
Thanks pypr, good post. It is what I would like to be skilled enough to write.

Jerry Brown gave us the Rose Bird Supreme Court. We had to get rid of three of those moronic judges. Only after they released a bunch of death penalty suspects onto the citizens.

Joe Grodin is a friend of mine, and one of the sharpest attorneys I've ever met. I disagree with him about the death penalty, but overall he has done the people of this state a world of good.

Jerry Brown will be elected the next governor of California by a landslide majority because he is the best qualified candidate for the job.

Under Brown's previous 8 years of leadership, California became the fourth largest economy in the world, increased funding for every social, education, and health program in the state, and we still had a budget surplus of over 5 billion dollars ....all without increasing taxes. There is no candidate, Democrat or Republican, that can even come close to let alone match his record.

After our States Democrats sold their Party to the Unions they will now decide what is best for them

As we have seen over the last decade, they would rather have a bigger pick up truck than educate our kids.

Whoever they pick will be deliver a crushing blow to the taxpayers and drive our State further into insolvency and hopelessness.

The State Democrat voting majority proved too stupid to handle self government and have torn the State to shreds.

"Overriding all of (it) is a real thirst among Dems to win back the (governor's office), almost at any cost," Maviglio said.

This is a sad statement, not just because it's democrats that want to win at almost any cost, but because that is what politics has become to these people. It's all about whether the guy in their party wins, not if that person is actually going to be worth anything.

And from what I've been told by those who remember, moonbeam wasn't any good the first time around!

Not at all. We want back the Governor's office because Arnold Schwarzenegger has vetoed some very important legislation that the people of California have elected representatives to pass. Get Meg Witless in that office and the only thing I'll have to look forward to is paying my taxes on PayPal. Woohoo.

Brown stands in history as one of the great governors from the Golden Era of this state. He knows what got us there, what we need to do to get back there. Let's give the helm to a sailor who's gotten us through these storms before.
