Excellent! I wonder how many currently receiving food stamps in the state are actually living in Mexico, but doing their food purchases in AZ?

I don't like national ID cards but looks like we're gonna have to go to it because of all these illegals sponging off the taxpayers. One more problem caused by illegals.

It's the only way we'll be able to know who we are, if we belong here, etc. Secure drivers licenses are working IMO too!

The "Real ID" Act takes effect in 2013 and it will standardize driver licenses throughout all 50 states (except NM and Oregon) and will be required to board airplanes, enter Federal Buildings, obtain Federal benefits (Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps, etc). NM and Oregon will be the only two states that won't comply with the "Real ID Act" because they allow illegal immigrants to obtain driver licenses, hence they will not qualify as ID outside of their respective state.

those folks in arizona are on top of things. no reason to give out anything without proof the person has a right to be here in the first place. they say they come only to work, well when they put their hands out and run up bills at hospitals it proves the fac ts. again way to go arizona all states should follow you lead.

Correct wrote: <quoted text>48 out of 50 is better than zero? Well the residents of New Mexico (where I live) and Oregon will be the ones who pay for their state's lack of action or inaction. We will not be able to board a plane, enter a Federal Building, or obtain any Federal Services. 48 out of 50 better than zero? It depends on where you live.

i don't see how the real id will work, there is so many high tech frauds who can make one just as is done with other forms of id. whats wrong with a finger print on our id that can be scanned our picture shows up on the screen and done. the dmv took my prints for my license so it should be no problem.

The "Real ID Act" supposedly requires a fingerprint on the back of the license. We will have to see what happens. Any state that fails to qualify for the Real ID will have their Federal funding cut by a minimum of 50%, I think.

We haven't been able to enter a Federal facility for years without a photo ID and going thru security. That's the way it should be IMO.

I Luv AZ wrote: Arizona, the state with the guts to do what's right for the citizens! Personally, I think you are both right. Now if we can only get the dipshit politicians in Washington, DC (and I include our current President and his cabinet), to start thinking about what is good for AMERICANS and not their political lifespan, we might actually get something done. But most politicians only think of their next election and therefore are only interested in themselves. Just look at Gingrich in Florida where they lost the NASA Space Program. During a speech there Gingrich said he wanted a "outpost" on the Moon in 15-20 years or so. Of course the audience loved it, but when he gets to another state, he will promise them something just as wild and expensive. Instead of promising wildass ideas that will cost billions if not trillions of dollars which we don't have, they need to take care of our National Debt which now exceeds our National Gross Product for the first time, and reduce the National Debt, tighten up our International Border Security, deport illegal immigrants who feed off our Federal Welfare System. Until politicians start thinking about the American People instead of their next election cycle, we are all screwed without being kissed.
