In 2002, Paul R. Babeu, former mayoral candidate and city councilor, was at a crossroads in his life - he had just lost a second election to Mayor John Barrett III and finished his master's degree at American ...

Paul Babeau is going to win this election for Sheriff in Pinal County. I am a cop out here and have become friends with Paul and he has amazing energy and is the best speaker running for office we've ever seen...

Paul is a good speaker with just words but nothing to back them up. He is a five year rookie cop. How can he run a medium sized agency. I have heard him speak and his lack of police knowledge comes out loud and clear. I am sorry he will get beat and beat bad, just like he got beat twice for mayor in his home state.

Paul Babeau is an ethical, rookie cop. Most of us at Chandler PD truly hopes he wins the election-to get him the heck out of Chandler. He would sell his first born if it would help him politically.

A great speaker makes for a great Sheriff......you're out of touch bud.

I was born and raised in North Adams Mass. I've known Paul Babeau and the Babeau family's reputation for years. I am a former military officer and now career federal employee with the defense department/USMC. I (and just about anyone else in N.A.)have nothing less than the highest regard for Paul Babeau. He comes from a good family, is an excellent citizen and lives high moral/ethical values. While I have not seen him in years I don't think he has changed. I don't buy your comments about unethical.
I won't say 'good luck Paul'. It won't take luck, just good citizens making a sound choice. You were up against a mayor in North Adams who became mayor when I was either in high school or college...decades ago...and he is still there. You made excellent efforts in running against an incumbent. Many folks - e.g. my parents and other relatives - voted for you because of who you are, your ethics, and concern for the citizens. North Adams is a small town. Folks know everything about other folks there - Paul is genuine, VERY ethical, and a superior choice for this office. I have never ever heard anything but good about Paul Babeau - and again, it is a small city and folks love to talk. Find someone there with ill to say about Paul and I'll reconsider.
Sincerely, Paul D. from Paul Babeau's hometown

i am a north adams resident (13 yr.)that lived in mesa az.(7 yr.)i am not a freind of,nor do i have any affiliation to mr babeau's family.many people voted for mr babeau and supported mr babeau by default, simply trying to rid the city of its corrupt mayor barrett.although paul was personable and shook alot of hands, even then it seemed his ambition outweighed his abilities.i have driven from dobson rd. in mesa to williams afb in chandler 1000's of times(back in the 70's & 80's)so i know the area he would be in charge of(i am also aware of its growth after my departure)and dont see how paul would be qualified to be the leader of a law enforcement team that he doesn't tenure in ,in an area he is new to.of course i know little of his compition, maybe he will win by default.

jassy..You cannt compare chandler 40 years ago and how is now. if you dont know him, you are not qualified to make a point about him. Babeu has been a great officer showing off his abilities. As president of CLEA, he's done alot to help co-workers. You can see his work as a leader in Nationa Guard, Iraq, Union and his work.
chandlercop... something hurts you, cuz you dont triumph and you dont aspire to be better. likely you have the same position for many years. Paul's ethic is in high standars.

Paul Babeau may be a great officer, but so are the other 250 police officer employed with the Chandler Police Department. A "great" officer doesn't mean one can manage Pinal County. As president of CLEA-Babeau has sold his sole to the administration and failed to properly respresent the officers.

Chadleresident-it's not that I don't aspire to be better, it's I choose to be ethical and my self worth is not based on unethical behavior in order to get ahead in life. Unlike Babeau.

I doubt you've ever even met this guy and your making judgements and opinions about him? And then you personally attack me? Maybe you should run for Under-Sheriff, you and Babeau would make a great team.

I say he is an ethical guy because I ve met him and you can see results, no just talking. you got a raise, thanks to Paul? or you didnt get a raise and that bothers you. you are the one who is attacking Paul. Im not attacking you, I just get the feeling you seem to be in pain/hate.

chandler res.,the eighties was only twenty years ago, and if you re-read you will see that i have visited(and seen the wonderful growth) the chandler area has had.i am a decorated vet and have a family,so your comment about triumph's and aspirations is laughable."pauls ethic is in high standars" or "paul's ethics are in high standings"(which kinda sounds better) is really not in question,i would hope all the cops in chandler had ethics.and what "abilities" are being "shown-off" by paul that the other police don't have.you would swear that it was paul himself from all the complimenary but vauge, politician style, writing (ethics, more pay, military record,..next thing you know he'll start talking taxes).politicians are not to be trusted,in any field of work, they make it seem like they are doing you favors to get where they want, but then they forget about you as their aspirations turn toward higher goals, leaving you behind as forgotten stepping stones(ask hillary how new york is doing !her run for pres. has made her forget all about the people she promised would "come first").chandler is a smart area ,you should go with someone who's lived there and proven a connection to the area.

jassy303... if you re-read you will see what comment is for you and what isnt. I agree most cops in Chandler, Arizona, and U.S are qualified and with abilites to do their job. Just check his record and you will see what he has accomplished in short period of time. I won't talk about military stuff where he's been almost 20 years. Probably is not enough for you, what a shame you dont live here. but did you get that in a short period of time? so look yourself what you got and where you are. "talking taxes" or "taking taxes""(which kinda sounds better) is really not in question.
so should I trust to a corrupt system (his opponent)? No, then The best option is a person with integrity, Paul. bw Paul lives here where he is running for. do you?

A person with only 5 years of police experience does not qualify them to run an entire county...furthermore, Paul's comment "When I get elected I will fire every deputy that does not look as good as I do" Come on Paul, are you really that arrogant? Anyone who knows Chris knows he is NOT corrupt, he would give the shirt off his back to help a total stranger, and his work to decrease the crime in the JR and Copper Basin community is tremendous as he has rid multiple Meth houses out of my sub-division alone. I want a Sheriff who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and fight for what is right, I want a Sheriff who can run an entire county of fine police officers and in Pinal County we do and that is Sheriff Chris Vasquez, a man of honor and integrity.
