I'd challenge that. You are a legal resident when you can prove that you live in the state. There is nothing about "legal US status".

Alot of illegals born of US citizenship actually come in through an easier hub than Mexico .Does anybody agree to that little island in the Pacific.

Dipstick, the only time you are a "taxpayer" is when pay state sales tax or federal excise tax and even an illegal alien pays those taxes whenever they buy a new set of tires in the US or spends money at a 7/11 or Walmart.

In regards to federal income taxes, you don't PAY those. The federal government lets you "take home" pay after the feds get their cut in the form of federal withholding of income taxes. Since the federal income tax rate is unlimited by law and can be legally set at 100% of your income, it is best to think of "take home" pay as a gift from the federal government.

As poorly as the teacher's unions are managing our schools, who cares who goes to them. They will get a third rate education and be fed what amounts to be dogfood anyway. Teachers must be very proud of themselves? They bring shame to America.

You are ignorant of the situation in the schools and of the reason that they are financed as they are.

Briefly: In Arizona, which is a right to work for less state, there is no "union run school' and I would make so bold as to say that there is no such thing anywhere in the USA where the schools are largely governed by state and federal law administered and overseen by local boards of education and extensively operated by administrators who tend strongly to conservative philosophies.

In other words, no teacher's union in any state manages the schools. In the United States the schools are managed by those described above and the administrators are rarely, if ever, in the union as they are in some other nations.

Briefly: Schools are financed by taxes at public expense. In countries that do it in other ways there is usually a high fee for enrolling a student and therefore the rich are educated and the poor neglected and left in ignorance, which is a problem for the society as a whole. In this system the schools are almost entirely free and paid for by public taxes so that the society as a whole benefits from having a more educated and informed work populace.

Your school taxes do not pay for your children. Someone else did that. You pay so you are not surrounded by ignorant people. Everyone benefits.
