I came from the east coast myself Jim and moved to Arkansas. I love Fort Smith area. Its even prettier heading inland to the little towns scattered throughout Arkansas. There are some beautiful places to raise kids.

DO NOT put her in Blytheville Schools. They are the worst school I believe I have ever encountered. Violence is rampant, and other than a select few, the teachers are awful.

Armorel and Manila are about the best bets for good schools and community around the Blytheville area. I am a teacher in Blytheville, but my family lives in Manila and my kids go to school there. Blytheville is working very hard on their schools, but I think it will be a couple of years before they get everything straight.

I have heard that Steele, MO is a great area, but that is strictly hearsay…I don’t have any first hand knowledge of that.

I agree Manila is the best place to put any child of any age in the school. I grew up here moved away and had to come home. As like any other town we do have our GOSSIP but if you just not pay attetion to it Manila is a great place to be...

I don't think Harrison would be as ideal as Hot Springs. In Hot Springs you can choose from so many different locations, and plus it's beautiful there. There are Lake Houses there that are very nice, plus the historical side of town is great. I recommend moving to Hot Springs!

Blessings to you in your move and welcome to our state.
Prepare yourself...our springtime is short, the summer is extremely humid, the fall and winter are different every year it seems!

May I speak for Searcy?
I was born in Searcy and have lived in several other states. I have come home to Searcy and am glad I did. The schools here were difficult (or so I thought) but provided a fine education. My daughter is now in kindergarten and learning what we did in first grade.
BTW, I suppose I should change my profile as it says something about Dallas TX.(Where did that come from anyway?)
