Im replying to you because the post directly below yours doesn't deserve any recognition. They say the immigrants have no business being here but if memory serves, weren't our ancestors saluting the union jack before the stars & bars? I mean technically, aren't these "illegals" simply doing to us what we done to the Native Americans & yet we have the audacity to bitch about it? What do you think? You seem to make more sense.

Did American Indians teach and help original settlers? Yes! But Native Americans did NOT rob and bankrupt their communities in order to support European immigrant settlers, or to buy their votes!!!

Research how the "government" is really supposed to be operating. WE the people have allowed them to misuse their "power" for many many years. We have the power to stop them, but we don't. They are supposed to be representing our best interests. That is a total joke. They represent greed and control over silence of the people. Enforcing immigration laws is just one of the things they are NOT doing. Why can't tax payers vote themselves a raise? Why can't we work a month out of the year and still get paid $60,000? Why can't they "help the economy" by cracking down on people cheating on taxes, welfare, etc instead of cutting funding for our schools? This is nothing, just wait for what is to come. We haven't seen anything yet. America will soon be a socialist/communist government.

There are petitions circulating through the metroplex asking the governor to address the issues created by our nearly-invisible border to the south. It asks for harsher laws for foreign nationals crossing illegally into texas and for immediate repatriation of any person found to be here without proper documentation. The suggestion is for fingerprint and identity cards for all REGISTERED alien workers and deportation without incarceration for those found to be in violation. There are several other issues addressed, also. I would urge anyone who has an issue with illegal immigration to start a similar petition, get as many names on it as possible, and get it to your elected officials, ASAP. Let your voices be heard in the real world and don't hide behind the "I can't do anything, I'm just one person" crap!
