Fire destroys Trident fish processing plant in Chignik Bay

A large fire has destroyed the Trident Seafoods processing plant in the Alaska Peninsula village of Chignik Bay.

Hey thanks for the coverage. my daughter is working at Tridentin Chignik Bay for the summer. She gave us the heads up and that she was fine but it was nice to read up on it.

Patty--I am glad to hear your daughter is okay. Too bad it went down like that. I did five consecutive summers in Valdez, and although we were warned something similar may happen, it never did. My younger brother and my mom went up to Trident @ Chignik this summer for their first year, and were pretty dissappointed the 'house burned down'. Also, my oldest brother Joe is/was the foreman up there in the same Trident processing plant, and I know management is pretty upset right now. I feel bad for all the people with hopes of making a few grand, and it's amazing nobody was seriously hurt.
