STOP SAYING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER! |

Sad enough when these fires are started 'naturally,' by lightning or something like that. But when so much damage is caused when someone starts a fire on purpose? I think if the arsonists are caught, the punishment should fit the crime. Disgusting. All of you in the affected areas, you're in my thoughts; stay safe.

Are you truly that stupid or do you just pretend to be stupid? |
I can't believe someone could do something so horrible. This has to be a slap in the face for people who lost their homes. Absolutely awful. |
|
He has a point. FOX News reported this just this morning. I think you owe him/her an apology. |

When they catch you, oh well the joint you go!
I know you burners like to read what you do So remember you WILL be caught, video everywhere! You piece of crap!! |

My heart is with all who lost their homes and posessions, but...you have your lives and can carry on. Now, catch those responsible and make sure they pay. I am sick of our liberal society being such wussy babies with criminals. "Do the crime...Do the time" needs to come back full force.

Of course arson has to interplay, with the high costs today, the mortgage, the increase in utilities, the taxes skyrocketing, if you have to have insurance, the price is astronomical, the price for gas to get to your inadequate paying job is almost evenly balanced, what food? I guess all those toys you and the kids just had to have to keep with the neighbors, when you thought you were high in cotton, just throw a match, turned on the gas and Burn Baby Burn..Lets get the insurance $$$ and relocate, relocate, relocate..Buh Bye Florida!

I agree with you 100 percent. But you just KNOW, esp. if the arsonists are fairly young, that there'll be people out there asking us to feel sorry for them, that maybe they had bad childhoods, that we all make mistakes, and blah, blah, blah... |

TO GARYM1A2: Sneaky Folk is right on one issue. When times are not that good, arson rises appreciably. Even when times are good, arson is a healthy percentage of structural fires. People drowning in debt sometimes take actions to keep their living standards. Of course, starting a fire in the woods on the bet to destroy a particular structure may not be a high percentage play. But if it could be done with no questions asked, a healthy payday occurs.

You think he deserves an apology for a racist comment? I think not. |

I find it interesting that the fires were set in a ring around Palm Bay, and all at the same time. Sounds like someone is trying to destroy the city, not just one home. It is true that arson cases happen more often in tough economic times, but usually, the people setting them are not so creative as to set the fire in the woods and hope it hits their house/car. Usually it is a fire set on the sofa or the curtains with gasoline and a match.
My father worked in homeowners insurance for a long time doing special investigations of suspected arson. I too, am an insurance adjuster, but on the auto side of things. This just doesn't sound like the typical "collect the insurance and relocate" style arson to me. |

These arsonists may be doing some a favor but to those that are losing their homes, it is sad. If they find the arsonist, than I would take everything they own, put it in a pile and set it on fire as they watch (that includes their little game boys, ipods and anything other toys they have.

He definitely had a point, he just should not have been so ignorant to state that such a thing applied only to white people. People from all different ethnic backgrounds are experiencing foreclosure. I realy hope that was not what happened here. Either way it goes, people lost homes due to some idiot with a match. |

No, he is an idot! A smart person would know that if you are behind on your mortage that insurance does not pay it off. They pay based on market value, not what you owe. |
I wonder if it was one of those "if I can't have it, neither can you" kind of situations. So sad. |

What is the percentage of property (parcel property with no homes) that was destroyed after fire damage are sold to developers to build commercial buildings or residential homes? Why would people want to destroy nature and value property? what is their gain from doing it? do their realized if any one gets kill it is murder too?
This is an example why our country and local governemtn should not cut out social services- these people need severe help and counseling. We need to conserve our nature- the more trees we have the cleaner and more filter we have for our oxygen. Nature is the greatest gift from GOD, and people become so greedy for a few dolloars. We need to stop building and conserve our Nature, trees and animals. We need to be thankful more for our State parks and what is left- sometimes I think builders get greedy and do stupid things and hire people to do stupid things just to get land "dirt cheap" |
