Gas only one reason for shift to public transportation

More people in the New York region are taking public transportation to and from work but rising gasoline prices are only one of the reasons behind the shift toward buses and trains, transit officials say.

She needs to stop touting her own horn. The numbers are fixed. They don't include canceled trains. The MTA loves canceling trains to bolster the ontime numbers.

If Suffolk bus get's their act together and puts more buses on the road with more cross routes North to South, they may actually turn a profit in today's market.Get the commute time down to an hour from more than 2 for a 10 mile trip and many more will take the bus.

A ten mile trip in an hour? That's crazy. It would take less time to walk 10 miles and it wouldn't cost anything
