Coach arrested in sex case

Sounds like nearly everyone has decided that the man is guilty. It is all about accountability on both sides. People need to look at the statistics on teen girls engaging in sex... it might put another perspective on the poor innocent little girl attitude. Anyway, anyone with a hispanic name like Javier Cruz, accused of a crime in racist Alamogordo is a sitting duck.

The facts are already going around school.
They're not just rumors.
My sister went to high school with Javier Cruz,
and I told her about this,
and she told me that it doesn't surprise her at all,
and that he's the biggest pervert she's ever met.
And the girls he "allegedly" slept with,
they're known around school to be fairly promiscuous.
I have no doubt in my mind that these allegations are true.

Why does it have to be one or the other? Yes, if the charges are true, he is completely in the wrong, and should get whatever punishment the courts see fit. But how does this make the girls white as snow? Should we keep telling our teenagers they aren't responsible for their own actions until they are 18? That attitude isn't serving us very well right now, is it?

I thank a better way of screening coach's should be looked into. It is a shame how this had to happen, what kind ethics is this showing the public about our school sports.

Take a look at the opening page of this newspaper. The young girl with her blue pants pulled down exposing her belly button and near pubic line. What message does that send? Sex sells as action without consequence and is promoted as not a big deal until someone desides to take up the offer. Hey maybe women should all wear burkas (sp), there are lots of nice shades in blue and black.

It was just a matter of time before this unprofessional got caught, it was about time! When you continue these types of criminal activity it will eventually catch up to you whether you know it or not. This isn't the first time this has happened, it's my understanding that he's got a storied past. I don't care if a underage minor has consented you have to know when to say no! That's very unprofessional of any coach to accept sex of a minor no matter how tempting!

They are looking at moving, mainly for this very reason.

If it's true, and the girl was a willing participant, then she needs to be drug through the mud as well.

Just like we have laws about serving minors, and providing them with cigarettes etc...
Their are also laws about underage drinking and smoking and penalties for breaking them.

There should be a law against underage sex as well.
Add some penalties for the minors involved and they might not be as willing to engauge in it.

I guess in a situation like this one, all anybody can look at is the negative image and all the bad things. I know him and believe he is a good man at heart. People make mistakes and bad decisions. WE ARE ONLY HUMAN. At the same time, the victim can say NO, whether adult or not. Society says that this is disgusting and inappropriate, but 200 years ago this wouldn't have been an issue. As humans we should adapt to our environment and he should have made a better choice. All I'm saying is he has done good things for the community and the city and we shouldn't kill who he is because of one bad decision (or several of the same decision). May the facts prove the whole truth and nothing but...

I agree with John Baake,
everybody has to take accountability for their decisions. If the person cannot do this than there is a problem with the parenting of the child. The way our law system works, EVERYONE is accountable for their actions whether they were intentional or not.

Mayfield coach just got busted
Onate teacher got busted
Las Cruces teacher got busted
Albq. teachers and coaches busted
Out of state read the papers these folks are everywhere; and how do they know one of these pedophiles isn't at the school where they move they might not have been caught yet.

I agree with Shannon. This man is an adult and should know better. The law is the law and no one should be above it. I feel for these girls who may have been mislead and his wife. Lets wait for all the facts. He does have a right to a trial.

I guess you people would blame those GIRLS in that Texas sect too. ADULTS ARE NEVER, EVER TO HAVE SEX WITH CHILDREN!!!

For all you people who are saying that the underage person should be partly to blame as well. What are you stupid. I dont care if an underage female is waving her coochie in your face you as an adult should know better that she is underage and it is illegal. Maybe that woman who dresses sexy all the time deserved to be raped because she looks slutty i mean she was asking for it right?

That is the same attitude you guys are preaching when you say the girls are partly to blame. That being said he is still an innocent man until he is proven guilty by a jury of his peers. I guess the southwest is famous for just lynching people withot all the facts must be that old west mentality.

This kind of stuff has always happened. It's just that now, it is more publicized. People didn't just start doing these kinds of things in the last ten years or so. Things like this have been happening since there were rules against it.

Has anyone asked themselves what are our children doing? There have been so many coaches accused of this same crime over and over. I believe we are teaching our children to cry wolf and innocent men are being sentenced to crimes they didn't commit. I also want to know why young girls are so vendictive? If the crime has been commited, I apologise for I mean no disrespect to a true victim; however this is happening too much and there are too many signs that the victims are not the "young girls" involved. They are the perpetrators because they are mad at the coach because he didn't give them what they wanted or cut them from the team.

Let's assume that any slut girl is asking an adult for sex and he refuses (All men are assholes and will have sex with anything though, right ladies? So lets just assume). So what do you suggest be done stop the slut girl from proposing for sex from authority figures or adults?

From what you wrote, nothing should be done about the girl. She can offer her body up for sex all she wants and it's only up to the adult to say no. She's then free to move on to the next dude and try again? Next would come rape and all we'd hear about it how the rapist is a piece of crap and the poor girl trying to whore with anything that's got a third leg is sooooo inoccent.
