If you paid with you credit card you have some recourse. Contact your credit card company and dispute the charge.

dang BIG D you must have steped on some toes this morning. looks like these people should have got up a little earlier.life is short enjoy it all you can.
That was my point old timer, if you're paying $95 or more to go to a game, why would you wait til kick-off time to get there, make your way thru the crowd, get your Fletchers, get inside the Cotton Bowl and make your way to your seat. Arrive early, problem solved. I am not condoning the actions of the property owners or the towing company. According to all the Dallas haters, everyone already knows how BAD Dallas and especially South Dallas is so why not use some common sense.

I could probably buy an orange vest at Wal-mart.

Reporting all the the towed cars as thefts sure sounds like a Police Department nightmare, might be time to try this, also how much was invested by Dallas into the stadium? Just a thought. Plus I thought the church welcomes everyone no matter what belief they represent, I guess not this one.

This sure is bad for these college students and their families to be cheated like this. I hope they go to the A. G. with this and get a law suite and I hope they all get their money back. Dallas doesn't need this sort of bad press. I hope they put this tow lot out of business real soon. It's a sad day when college kids can't even go to their own football game without getting preyed upon by crooks like this. Somebody has to make this right.

welcome to dallas. the tow industry must own city hall. these types of incidents occur all the time. rather than fine the firm and order a return of all fees they will look the other way. city hall is enablers of this type of activity. what they fail to understand is none of the people who had their cars towed will be back next year. and they are currently telling everyone else at their campuses to also never come to dallas for the game. dallas, preying on out of towners is a quick way to lose all tourist dollars.

Oklahoma Victim wrote:
They towed our car. When we arrived at the fair. The fair parking lot was full so we parked in a lot where 2 men were holding up signs that said fair parking $10.00. We followed several cars into this parking lot. Paid the man the money and asked him if he would be there all day to watch our cars. He said yes. No signs were posted anywhere. We left the fair after the game was over to find our car was gone. There was a man there at the lot who said that he owned this property and had all of our cars towed. He said when he came to his property and saw the cars parked he called the Lone Star Auto Services to come and put up a sign. The Lone Star Auto Services towed every car from the lot. The man who said he owned the property stayed and resold the parking to other people. We then walked to the Lone Star Auto Services and stood in line for 3 hours before getting our car. The towing company charged us $189.00 plus there were scratches all over one side of our car where they brushed up against a tree towing our car. The towing company workers were rude and very unprofessional. It took 3 hours for them to process 6 cars. They only would take cash or a debit card. How many people come out of the fair with that much money? There were OU and Texas students, elderly, middle aged. No one should have to go through what we went through.
The city of Dallas should do something about this scam. The city of Dallas police even told us this was a scam but there was nothing they could do. Stealing cars is a crime and this is what the towing company did they stole our car. The towing company made about $30,000 from their victims in one day.
The game should be moved to another location, if the fair officials can't provide enough parking.
About the only thing you can do is file for a Tow Hearing with the city of Dallas. Of course if you are from Oklahoma, you'd have to come back for the hearing. You would need to get the owner of the property to come to the hearing and testify that he had the signs put up after you parked and then called the tow company. That might be the only way you could possibly get your money back from the company. The court would have to rule that the vehicles were towed illigally. Good luck to those who try.

This is precisely why the attendance at the State Fair is down. Not only are the prices high but such illicit behavior needs to be stopped! Come on City of Dallas, do something!

This happened to us and several others when we went down there a few years ago and my sister took them to court and won. She, the judge and the "lot" owners even went out to the location to look at the area and the judge ruled in her favor. She got all of her money back. You're right, they are a lot of scum bags. It is isn't just out of towners they bait. The lot owners and towing services are in it together and split the profits of their thefts.

I must have missed something on this comment. Please explain why it matters if you show up 5 hours early or at freakin half time. Dont they have some kind of person or people that go around and check this shit out. Can anybody just open alot or area down there for this parking crap. What about there city Inspectors. The city requires a freakin permit for everything else Why are they not checking for permits on this. I am just trying to understand how this could even happen. I thought there was alot of Dallas police working this thing. If it not their jobs or the city to check on events likes this then whos is it. Sounds like Dallas needs to get their shit together.

They didn't take credit cards as payment. Most likely for that very reason. They're good crooks, not stupid ones, obviously.

That is not a big surprize. If people only knew the other things tow truck drivers did. They should go after the owner of the tow service.

Does NBC5 have an investigative reporter to assign to this story? I think that this one deserves a follow up report and some pictures of the tow truck ownership on the news. All of these victims can't be making up the same story.

Another prime example of the greed in America today. Pay to peark , have car towed so more prople can pay for the same parking spot. This happens every yar and the residents who pull o9ff this scam and the police who turn their heads are all involved. That and the ridiculouly high prices once you get in all make the state fair a place I don't look forward too anymore.

The criminal deception of Lone Star Auto Service should land the business owners in Jail and they should have to close their business for good. It was an OBVIOUS action to try and make some money.
Normal law abiding citizens can spit wrong and get in trouble. these people must know something or someone that we don't.
Shame on you........Thieves.
Why else would they have Dallas PD make the media reporting their theft leave the premises.
