I totally agree with you regarding that situation. You are definatly right in what you, i am glad we both agree that some kids do need to work to help their families, but there is time when they can do the right things for football and help their families as well. I coach in college, but some of the kids we recruit work and go to school and play football. They do it pretty good and thats why we recruit them. It can be done if the kid wants to do it. You r so right when you said kids do some things becuase it looks cool or something like that. I think that this program can be the dominant program it was before with dedication from all sides of it. You dont turn a program around in one night. You do it brick by brick. It takes hard work, effort, and sacrifice. You can always talk about those three things, but they really dont mean anything until you actually do it.

I have read all 102 comments on this blog and I have to say it is unbelievable. There is more slamming going on here than at a high school lunch table. How many of you have been to practices, watched these boys practice, take them to and from practices, 7 on 7, big man competitions, and taken care of them when they have come home exhausted, bruised, and hurting??? I have, and let me say these boys are striving to be better than the past. They want you (The Burg) to proud, they want to be a winning team, and they want us all to having something to celebrate. My son has played since he was 7 from KYFL to Trojans, and no matter what coach he had he learned something from each of them. We as parents may not like the decisions they make, but they make them with all the facts in hand, facts we don't have. I support each & every one of the boys & the coaches, so Trojans go play the game for you, the coaches and supporters you do have and forget the rest of them.
As for the JV vs V, its simple, Highschool football isn't about fair play, everyone getting a turn, its about putting the best you got and try to make a winning team. The boys that moved up had something to bring to the Varsity level, something the coaches felt it needed. No school in America gives JV the same level of prestige or even recognition as your Varsity team. The Quitters List, I feel sorry those kids were left to quit because they didn't like the coach, I hope they like their boss, or its going to be a long road in life. The boys that worked over the summer put Football first, it was thier choice and they were rewarded. Its Highschool, its time to decide on what is important to them. You can be good at lots of things, but you can only be great if you put 150% into that one thing, those that chose football this summer did that and deserve to play! Trojans Players ~ You played hard and you will get your day if you keep playing the same way with the same mindset that you will prove them all wrong. Trojans Coaches ~ You are doing a fine job, its easy to talk crap when you aren't the one held responsible for the results. Brian Reese ~ Great comment, a sign of a good leader, another hint that this team is finally on its way to bringing it home! 10th grade players on Varsity ~ Keep it up, you are right where you should be and your fellow classmates will follow you! As for you non supporters, go find another sport we don't want you! |

Mr. Unbelievable,
Your story is no different than any other player or parent that has grown up in th Chbg area. We have always worked hard (my son and I both played for Chbg). We had good, even great Jr High teams... then when we get to the High school level, "another losing record". Trojan Football unfortunately, is, what it is! |

Bro, all of your posts are very poorly written. I have a tough time believing anything you say. For your sake I hope I'm wrong. |
