We may not have a great football team but they are our kids and we need to support them the best we can. The first home game of the year and the stands were empty. Shame on us..

The parents were there; the community wasn't. If the would win some games, the stands will fill up. |

Ok, so what you are saying is the community is a fair-weather fanbase? Great, that makes a lot of sense and shows how people really feel.
And people wonder why kids run to get out of Alamo when they graduate — no one here except their parents support them in anything they do. It does make sense though, even in the 2006 season, the only game the home stands was packed for was the state championship game. |

Kids run out of Alamo after graduation for a CAREER.

Thank you for saying that...My son does not play football, but we still go to the games to show support to the kids...A lot of people want to yell when kids do something wrong, but are the last ones to support them when they are trying to stay on the right track. Win or lose blow out or not we support all Tiger sports and wish them the best! |

I agree wholeheartedly. And yeah, kids run out of Alamo for a career, maybe. But there are former kids who have stayed home to establish themselves in careers — Nate Bowman and Jason Atkinson are two notables that come to mind.

As a parent to one of these kids, I can say we are so proud of these coaches and players. They are having a tough time of it but WE will be at every game to support and encourage this team. The D's gotta get better or it won't matter how good the O is. QB could do better but considering he has had limited coverage he's not too bad. Keep Weary at WR and Baby D at running back. Vega at corner. Garnan is another exceptional player. This team has amazing potential but they have to start laying the other team out. Period.
