I never met Robert, but his brother is my neighbor, and gosh what an AMAZING family! This tribute to him means so much to those who knew him. What a GREAT thing! It's such a shame that a man had to die over a $5 parking fee! If you don't want to pay for your kids to be in sports, they shouldn't play. Mr. Haught, this poor decision will haunt you the rest of your life. What a shame!

If only other springfield residents cared as much as Robert Abrams about the kids and passed some levies!!!!

What a nice tribute to Bob Abrams. He was a very nice man who always seemed to only see the good in other folks. An example we all could follow.

I've known Bob Abrams since I was 6 and he was a great husband, father, coach, and all-around person. Springfield would be a much better place with more people like him.

On a side note, Haught should be in prison for what he did.

I wouldn't disagree with your statement, but I will add; a lot of people made mistakes that day, unfortunately no one gets a do over and someone paid the ultimate price. Abrams wouldbe very proud of his son who is a very nice young man.

That's correct...unfortunately, one man's "mistakes" cost another his life. And the very man who made the "mistake" has shown no remorse for what he did. Instead, he tried to sue the family of the victims and Springfield, claiming that they were to blame because they did not provide enough security. Security from what? Him???

Abrams was an innocent victim of the event. He went over to see what was happening and was blind-sided by someone who, already enraged over having to pay $5 for parking, was trying to show their manhood in front of a bunch of 15-year-old kids. Prison is the LEAST of what this pathetic excuse for a human deserves.
