The truth hurts. This is a dirty filthy border dump of a place. They can dress it up all they want but it is what it is. People from here rarely travel and see the rest of the country let alone anywhere but Mexico. This town will claim to be diverse. Diversity ? Where? The football team has some talent but it aint because of any local talent. I will never go to another UTEP game and waste my money. Filthy fans getting drunk of which most of them never attended college. It really is a joke some people cling to UTEP football. People here have no clue what the big time college football enviroment is really about. Forget football for a second this school cant even field a men's soccer team, men's volleyball, or men's baseball. Pathetic.

Loving football means supporting your team through thick and thin. So the miners are not rated top ten, so the miners dont have a huge following... WHO CARES. I love my miners and I love my football so regardless of all the negativity on here I will proudly display my miner shirt and pledge my support WIN OR LOOSE! All of those on here talking smack and sounding far from witty and smart I would love to see your middle age, belly gut suit up and play with half the heart these players have.
The miners are taking the field with their fellow El Pasoans trashing them and that is sad. Play your hearts out miners thats all we ask for.

Mack Brown opened his weekly news conference by saying that the trip to UTEP provided a good learning experience for his team.“It was a good challenge.… It wasn’t a thing of beauty. This team’s a work in progress.”

He praised Roddrick Muckelroy as the team’s top defensive player for his 14 tackles and fumble return for a TD and Colt McCoy as the team’s top offensive player.

“The game was a great setup for us to learn from,” Brown said, noting the late start of the game and the fact that it was on the road.

“That wasn’t the same UTEP team that showed up for the Buffalo game. If you saw the Buffalo game, you’d be shocked.”

He noted that the Texas defense got off to too slow of a start, allowing UTEP to get up 6-0.

“I’m sure our guys underestimated UTEP,” Brown said.
