City waits for outcome of Super Bowl bid

This is your last chance, Indy, so make it a good one!!! Even if the League chooses elsewhere, that means NOTHING for the city's quality of life. It's all about bringing the most $$ to the NFL and that's it. If you ask me, Indy is better than Phoenix or Houston.

NFL= giant money pit. It's all about separating people who are too dumb to say no from their money. "If you don't build me a new stadium, I'll go somewhere else!" My answer would have been, "Don't let the door hit you in your gigantic wallet, Jimmy boy!", but that's just me.

will the whole super bowl week be held
here if we get the super bowl |

gas is out of control, property taxes are horrible, people are out of work, but we must build a new stadium. Doesn't sound very smart, but I guess all the people involved with this super bowl bid/stadium have more money than brains. The fans in Indy are fickle, as soon as the Colts are out of the running for a super bowl appearance in 2012, people will turn on the NFL and the Superbowl, didn't fans boo a girl wearing a Patriots jersey. They don't like football in Indiana, they just like the Colts....good luck, just don't ask me to volunteer, go ask Irsay.

This is a waste of money. The city of Indianapolis should not be paying the NFL to come here. The NFL should be paying Indianapolis to bring the super bowl to the city. Indianapolis can not afford to spend all that money when the city is in need of repair. A lot of streets are 25 to 50 percent or more potholes, sewers are falling apart and overflow too many times, and crime is on the rise.

What exactly is one day of football going to do for the city that 97 years of racing already hasn't?
|
|
No--the week will be held in Montreal--just the game will be here |

Well since the owners have opted out of the current labor agreement, we may not even be playing football in 2011 let alone hosting a Super Bowl in 2012. It figures that the year we have a excellent chance to host a SB the players and owners are going to get their "junk in a wad" over labor negotations. Go Colts

Halaluyah!!!! Indy has a lot of work to do in the next 4 years: make south Meridian and entertainment district, buila a highrise hotel or two, build a highrise condo, and expand its comatose skyline. I tried to tell people that Indy was well capable of hosting this. Congrats to Indy's leaders!!!

Ditto!!! |

All you whiners make me sick!!! Indy, trying to shed off its Naptown reputation, has been awarded a Super Bowl, and you chronically-miserbale losers complain!! Unbelievable. Whaaa whaaa whaa! Go enjoy your pathetic lives.

The biggest problem and the main concern I have is when we have any special events here, there aren't enough hotel accommodations. I work at Lilly and when we have visitors coming in and needing hotel accommodations, it is hard to find anything when there is some kind of special event going on. We can't accomodate folks when we have the Indy 500! The Super Bowl will be the biggest thing this city has ever seen. I hope they are going to be able to accommodate people with a place to stay.

Wow! John - I agree with you. You are SO SO right! Our streets are absolutely the WORST!!!! And they want to spends MILLIONS of dollars on one day for the NFL. Take care of your own people and the streets we have to drive on, Mayor. |

Great now we have to hear about this every day for the next 4 years. blah blah blah......
