The Democratic Party is about lawyers, government workers, and those that live on handouts. If you are sucessful in the private sector they attack you and accuse you of receiving "corporate welfare" even if your business employs thousands of people.
Lawyers, government workers, and those that live on handouts are not what made this country great. It is the business spirt that these leaches wish to tax more that is the envy of the world. |

This guy needs a wake up call.......it is not rocket science who he should vote for.....
He states that his staff of 5 is down to 2.....so why the struggle to pick a candidate?? He, like most americans, will vote for the person that ''gives'' him more...or ''takes'''less from him... Your article states that blacks and young voters will line up for Obama....they will do this because they are not thinking...and only because he is black. Maybe you are correct...but is it the best thing for America??? Will we now turn this nation over to rule by the minority and not the majority? Rome did that 1700 years ago (and they had lasted a lot longer than America). We will see.... |

If you like the way things have been going, keep voting Republican. Quit whining and vote.

MCcain will not change anything and Obama isn't smart enough to change anything.
What a sad choice, I can't vote for either. |

Take a good hard look at obamas tax proposals. it will tax the populace mercilessly, tax all business militantly, and force jobs out of america like rats from a sinking ship.
The Wall Street Journal says: The top individual income tax rate, for example, would be increased by 13%, to 39.6%; the next-highest rate would be raised to 36%. The top rates on capital gains and dividends would rise by a third, to 20% The Social Security payroll tax would be raised between 16% to 32% for families making over $250,000 a year. This means that the real returns these people get from their lifetime payments into the retirement program will be driven below 0%. Mr. Obama also wants a permanent federal estate tax, with a top rate of 45%; his health-insurance plan includes a NEW PAYROLL TAX ON EMPLOYERS; and he also contemplates several increases in the corporate income tax, including a new so-called windfall profits tax on oil companies. Consequently, to say, as the campaign does say, that the candidate's tax plan is a tax cut on net -- and that it would limit taxes to 18.2% of GDP -- is grossly misleading. The Obama tax plan would sharply increase real taxes. It also would come nowhere near to paying for the massive increases in federal spending he has proposed, including the spending that is disguised in the form of refundable tax credits. |

Go ahead and cut Social Security 5 percent. But then you better eliminate EVERY TAX BREAK FOR EVERY OIL COMPANY, EVERY BANK, EVERY PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY, EVERY RICH PERSON AND EVERY SMALL BUSINESS.
If things are that bad that we have to screw 50 million little guys who have paid into a system that's been around 70 years, THERE BETTER BE A LOT OF PAIN FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN GETTING A FREE LUNCH UNDER BUSH. |

Middle aged voters, if you need help changing your mind then I encourage you to look at the candidates proposed healthcare plans. This , believe it or not, is going to be an issue that is going to affect you more and more as you inch past middle age. It is an issue that affects everyone.
With McCain's plan you have him touting his 'free market' policy. But all it does is put more money in the hands of healthcare CEOs. Because, and this is something not obvious, he is not doing away with the cherry picking practices that all health insurance companies currently use. Meaning if you have any kind of pre-existing condition (arthritis, depression, cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc) you will be denied coverage. You will be then tossed into the high risk pool which historically is 1.5 to 2 times more expensive then 'healthy' coverage. That high risk pool is also supplimented by tax payer money. With his plan more and more people are going to be in that high risk pool (since his plan also includes doing away, essentially, with employer sponsored healthcare - so no help there)- if there is not enough money to support the influx of people then you will be placed on a waiting list. Obama, on the other hand wants to make insurance more affordable. He wants to do away with the cherry picking practices and make insurance available to everyone. Just something to keep in mind. |

More on obamas Healthcare "plan". Dont let this Snake oil salesman sell you on his words. His actions and those of his wife speak volumes about where he really stands on the issue. More on michelle obamas healthcare involvement: http://www.youtube.com/watch... |

You'll be singing a different tune when you see how much tax payer money really WILL be going into McCains plan. Who do you think is going to suppliment his high risk state funded groups? Do you suppose he is going to fund them from money out of his own pocket? Maybe he'll ask Bush Jr to donate some of his oil money to the cause. It's going to come from you, no matter how you look at it. It all depends on how much you want to pay - a lot with McCain's plan or a little with Obamas? |
|
Actually, I do like the way things are going. Unlike Liberals, I know that the my happiness or unhappiness is the sum of the decisions and actions "I" make. It's easy to blame the government for ones own bad decision making. I guess therein lies the appeal of B.O. That is, if the government decides what foods are legal to eat, cars eco friendly enough to drive, what doctor we can go to and when etc., it really takes the burden off of the individual for his/her own success or failure. It will be interesting to keep track of this reporters piece and keep track of just how biased it will be. |
|
Aww, another whiney conservative. Boo-hoo the mean ol' liberals want to help the nation. Boo-hoo I have to pay more for services, like police and firefighters, that I take for granted. Boo-hoo. What a bunch of crock. You don't like so-called liberal media? Go watch Fox news - they'll cater to your whiney little whims. |
|
At least CEO's have a job and earn their living. If you are concerned about retirement, save more money. If your job doesn't provide health care, turn off your cable and get some (priorities). This reliance on the government will be the death of our democracy and freedom. |
|
I have a full time job (with free lance on the side). I save money. I can't purchase health insurance - since I'm a T1 diabetic in the state of Florida I depend upon my employer to provide me with health insurance. McCain's plan will take even that away from me. I'll be in the high risk pool. I do make money but not enough to be able to afford an extra 10,000 in healthcare. And that is for the plan alone - that doesn't include my out of pocket for doctors visits, labs, medications. What do you suggest I do? How about you stop your whining? You obviously know NOTHING about the problem of healthcare in this country. You don't know what a complete JOKE and MESS that it is. |
|
So angry! We should let the readers decide who's posting is whinier. As far as police and fire, yes, those are government responsibilities (infrastructure and national security.) Taking my money from others to take care of people who have made bad life decisions, not their job. You might want to look up "whiney" in the dictionary before you start throwing that word around and maybe look into some anger management classes. Have a fantastic day. P.S. If you are having a tough time deciding which direction to wipe your a**, stand-by, Barak will be deciding that for you soon too. |
|
Aww, whiney baby got their widdle panties in a wad. Well, enjoy your McCain reign, then. You'll able to mavel as more and more homes and business go under as he carries on the failed policies that the Bush set brought in. I bet you're in the business of being a vulture - you don't want anything to change because you've been picking the bones of hard working people. You're a grade A jerk. Good luck with that, widdle one. |
|
I suggest you move to Norway. Instead of concentrating on how the system works against you, research the ways it can work for you. I'm sure there are people with similar situations that do manage. I am not against government intervention in catastrophic cases but only after all other options have been exhausted. The Dems socialism will foster in an age of underachievers and freeloaders that will ruin the system and take credibility away from those that genuinely need help. |
|
Say, you didn't manage to come up with any suggestions for what millions of hard working Americans with Pre-existing conditions are going to do after McCain does away with employer sponsored health care. I mean, since the high risk pools are going to be payed for with tax payer money it will go completely against your conservative morals. Maybe you could just write me a check right now and skip that pesky increase in taxes bit that will be the end result of his plan. Government is about governing the people. If there is too much government in your tea, then feel free to move. Or perhaps you'd be better off as a liberarian? Because, with all the brilliant folks running around "letting the people do as they choose" really looks like a fantastic option. |
|
Dear child, I have looked. I have had T1 diabetes for fourteen years now - you'd be foolish to think that I haven't looked into other options. You're an A**. Seriously. I bet you're going to state that people such as myself should just move or die...until you get a pre-existing condition of your very very own. T2 diabetes is common among fat Americans, maybe you'll get that. Then you'll cry and complain. Cherry picking is the problem. If everyone would be allowed to buy health insurance, and insurance companies were non-profit, the entire nation would be doing better now. Did you know that employers commonly pay less because of all the 'benefits' they give you? You're paying for insurance all ready. Why not see a bit more in your pay check as a result? |
|
|
Sounds like you could use some insulin Cycles.
So far the only person I see whining is you,.. Do you really need that much vitriole to prove your point? Sadly It does nothing but make the people you oppose look more gracious. Have a nice day. |
