I cannot help but smile when I see a group of kids having fun. It's also great that the coaches taught them the lessons of humility and teamwork. Great job! This team showed a lot of class and grace--this type of sportsmanship should be the example of all youth teams--HS included. Two LL World Series championships in 4 years (not to mention the successes of the junior and senior leagues) from a small speck of land in the Pacific. The mainland should start to recognize the talent thats being developed on the islands for all sports. Major college football programs have already taken notice. Three local girls on the US womens silver medal volleyball team; one local boy on the US mens gold medal volleyball team; Brian Clay--world's greatest athlete gold medal winner; Natasha Kai, Gold medal US womens soccer team; Brian Ching, US mens world cup soccer, etc. Hawaii is well represented and should be proud.

You are an inspiration to all youth baseball players. I couldn't stop watching the game even the game against Louisiana, it was so intense. Way to represent Hawaii.

The legal and correct name of the organization whose team won the Little League World Series is "Waipahu Little League." It is inaccurate and ethically poor journalism to change the name to "Waipio" on any reference.
