We played the 1965 Long Beach team at Bloch Field in San Pedro in one of the early rounds...they had another stud on that team, a guy named Russ Caldarella...our San Pedro team had three future big leaguers in Alan Ashby (Indians, Astros, Toronto), Joey Lovitto (Texas Rangers) and Danny Bonden (Giants)...Garry Maddox (Giants, Phillies) was on Pedro's 1964 team...they beat us and moved on...they were a GREAT team.

There were 59 friends and family that were able to make the trip to PA to watch our boys play. This is article just shows what a memorable experience this was for all involved. Next year the 1959 year team will be honored in Washington, PA in an on the field ceremony during day 1 of the Pony World Series. GO BEACH!!!!
