I know that Barbaro has passed on, but I wanted the Barbaro team to know that he is still in my heart...and will remain in it. He was special. He was passionate about what he did. He was a fairytale that ended in disbelief. A nightmare. He was the greatest.
This may sound crazy, but whenever i read or watch TV about him, I have shivers that run down my spine. He was America's horse. And even though I didn't know him. I felt as though I did.
He was an unfinished story to the Triple Crown and i know that he would have won. There will never be another Barbaro, but there is hope that there may be something close to his althletic ability and character.
He will now run free in heaven, faster than he did on the racetrack.
I love Barbaro and I always will <3

How can any horse have his own e-mail account? The hooves make it too difficult to type.

SEND MONEY! Barbaro's recovering! From what? Death?
Am I reading this correctly? NBC10 originally posted this on May 22, 2006.

No don't think NBC posted this. It was mostlikely was posted by a wacko Peta supporter. They are always asking for money for some fraudulent cause.
Barbaro has a Memorial fund with the (NTRA). The National Thou breed Racing Association The money raised by a legal foundation is going to science to find a cure for founder in horses.
Beware of frauds out here asking for donations.

Sadly people like you can only 'hear about that type of thing.' If horses are not 'in your blood' you miss out and don't even know it. What is YOUR 'thing'? Fast cars, slow women/men, bridge jumping, cats, saving the wolves? Everyone has a 'thing' enjoy your and let others do the same.

Right on Kim!
Nicanor (now 2 and in training has turned in several Official works) and Lentenor,(a yearling) will be interesting/fun to watch develope. Barbaros full brothers certianly can not replace him, but maybe they can help to ease some of the pain.

Ya know what's funny ? When this horse was going through his trials and tribulations, it was the "BIG" story here in Philly. It was a bigger story that people dying, crime, bad weather coming etc...I guess the media and some people think a horse is worth more than a human life. He fought a courageous battle and lost. He's gone, let him go, he was a good horse.

Barbaros image, carried by the media, united nearly an entire Nation.
He made us experience empathy, and sorrow for faultless victums. He made us witness courage and tenacity in the jaws of doom. He compelled a Nation to take a strong grasp on Hope, against all the odds.

He made us, for awhile, forget about our inept, sometimes pitiful, day to day struggle.
He provoded us a belief in something pure and true and good.

He humbled the Human Spirit...if only for awhile.

You are right. I don't doubt that Barbaro was a wonderful horse, but there was really no reason to make such a big fuss over him. His only major accomplishment was a Kentucky Derby win, and yet in the news it was all BARBARO-BARBARO-BARBARO. It just felt like a horse's life was way more significant than a person's life.

You could not be more incorect. We actually love horses in our house. We do not like rip off artists like yourself. Barbaro died quite some time ago, all of us know that. The irrational rant was not only silly, but an invitation for peopel to donate money to whom? Yourself? He cannot come back to life. He is dead.

Horses like Barbaro do not demand the same charity as more needy animals that are abused and in shelters. They are owned by the wealthy. Asking for money to support a horse that is owned by a wealthy individual is an outrage.

You need help, go get it.

To each their own, live and let live.
What did ANY of that have to do with money???
Kim Warko didn't mention money...? Youy made a very crude remark to someone for no reason except meaness. That is all I objected to or wrote about.
Mean People Suck. So, whatever.
