Big Brown Leads Field At Kentucky Derby

A-Big Day at Churchill Downs,THE ONE ONLY KENTUCKY DERBY We love it.

I just watched the worst broadcast of rhe Kentucky Derby that I have ever seen.

The race went off and at one time they posted the names of the 4 lead horses. IT changed once and then there was nothing. DO they think we can figure out which horse is which in that crowd. Not only that after the race, and BIG BROWN won, they never mentioned who came in 2nd and 3rd. They interviewed the winning jockey and then they commented on 8 belles being down. Then in his discussion the commentator said she came in 2nd. It was at least 5 monutes before we heard who came in 3rd. Was BIG BROWN the only horse in this race?? Even when they showed a replay they only pointed out big brown...no mention of the names of the other horses. NBC should be ashamed of this representaion.

Exploitation and cruelty... I don't care how much of a tradition horse racing is. It's just wrong.

Yeah Sara and so is drilling for oil in our wildlife preserves but it doesn't sound like to bad of an idea now does it?

I agree I love horses and now another one just had to be euthanized they don't ask to run in these races

This is something I have always wondered: Why are jockey's mostly men? The requirement is that they weigh between 120-140 lbs so a woman is more suitable. It seems they go out of their way to find tiny men rather than a woman.

Why don't we put the jockey down as well?

They should euthanize the jockey and owner of this poor creature. Just a disgusting form of animal abuse that is sanctioned by so many Neanderthals.

It isn't abuse. I once saw a horse break his leg while he was loose running and playing in a field. All it takes is bad luck.

As you can see a horse was put to sleep, this is sport is murder. As you all may know I was once accused of murder but I am innocent. Free these horses and don't race them. OJ Simpson

Horse racing is OBSCENE !!! How can horse racing go on? Who benefits from horse racing? Only people who have money to burn benefit from it like Saudi princes and other egotistical ilk. Sorry you were forced into such a inhuman activity. Rest in peace Eight Belles.

I'm not a jockey, but I have ridden horses, do you think that the jockey was hacked he didn't win, and pull the horse back to hard, and she planted her front legs, and viola--bilateral compound fractures of the front ankles? My dad and I both wondered....all the horses weight would come down hard on those front ankles...just a though, would be worth looking into, and as much as the horse stood to win, I would think the owner WOULD be looking into it.

Your innocent my ass!! Why do you think they tried you in a wrongfull death suit and won. You just happened to move to FL where your protected by the Homestead Act so now they can't touch your belongings.

Exciting race as usual, but it was heartbreaking to see that beauty filly destroyed!
