If she is good enough to make the team then it shouldn't matter if she's a girl. She should have to make the cut but if she's good enough to make the cut she deserves to play.

How stupid can people get? I suppose she's going to expect her own locker room for every game too huh? I say no! If she wants to be equal, let her be equal. Let her use the same locker room at the same time as the guys. If the guys are required to wear a cup, she wears one too.

This is BS. Do the boys go out for womens sports? Heck no! Someone needs to put a stop to this insanity. This is high school for pete sake. Lets let boys be boys and grow to men. Lets do the same for the girls. The added pressure and distraction is unfair to the boys. If she wants to play boys sports then take the money you are spending on lawyers and put her in travel baseball. What kind of father does this girl have? Does he have no regard for the team? There will be nothing but resentment.

Apparently you have never made the team. Besides do I want boys to try out for my daughters team. Heck no |

Whether it is a girl or a boy, 9 years of baseball is a lot of hard habits to break if they were to try out for softball. On the surface, baseball and softball look similar, but the mechanics of the game really are different. This girl/boy would have to relearn how to swing a bat, how to run the bases, how to throw a the ball. Depending on the position she/he plays, she/he would need to purchace a new glove. She/he would need to purchase of new ASA approved bat. She/he would have to learn a new playing strategy. The list goes on. From a coach's perspective, I don't think this is stupid at all. Let the girl try out. Based on skill alone, she'd probably have a better chance of making the baseball team than the softball team.

Let her try out. If she is better than the guys on the team then too bad for them tell them to practice more.
Good luck Logan. |

I don't care if she's better than Jose Conseco. It doesn't matter. What matters is this is a boys team. Despite what all the weak kneed liberals think, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with excluding girls from an all boys team. |

Her skill level is IRRELAVENT. If she can sue to be on an all boys team, why can't all the boys sue for being deprived of their right to be on an all boys team? |
|||
You are SO right! Girls should stay home and make babies, that's as God intended. |

If they do, are you going to file a lawsuit so you can do it too? |
|||
Now there you go Dude, hating on me like some pansy liberal. And I thought you were one of the few right thinkers here. She got no business playing ball when she should be home taking care of the house and making babies like God intended. She's probably got a liberal mommy and a commie dad telling her she can do whatever she wants instead of what's right. |

No No No... There YOU go again, missing the point completely. She is only entitled to the privilege of "stayin home and makin babies" if the guys are allowed to do the same thing. Are you ready to join in on a class action lawsuit against all women for keeping the ability to bear children all to themselves? |

Mongo think you both are nuts.

I am a girl that played sports growing up. This story is insane. Gee let's see who we can sue next. No wonder insurance is so freaking high. Stupidity.

so sad it has come to this.

I hope this girl gets the chance to play baseball, but let's hope also that the coaches are open enough to allow her to play. I've seen girls who are forced to wear their uniform exactly as the boys wear it, including wearing a cup. That just shows the ignorance of the males who coach the sport. I hope that this girl has role models for coaches and not biggots.

I see a potential problem here. Does the school have a boy's volleyball team? etc. etc..........

Sorry, but prohibiting girls from joining a boys baseball team is not bigotry. It's common sense. But of course, common sense is no longer politically correct. |
