As a football coach, I require that the student get a doctors note to return to practice after a head injury. First of all it protects the kid, second, it protects me. I've personally had 8 concussions over the years from football, motocross, and being thrown from a few horses. When it comes to these kids and injuries, it's always best to error on the side of caution.

The article suggested details on what to look for. We got one sentence that used the word "includes".
More information would have been nice. |

My son received his first concussion last year in a football game and it was very scary to see my honor student unable to put a sentence together. After that I did alot of research on concussions and their LONG TERM affect on kids if you have multiple concussions. There are different levels of concussions and along with different levels comes a time period they should sit out. Alot of coaches want them right back in action in a couple days, but that was not good enough for me. After all my research I made sure my son sat out the remainder of season to heal. This football season I made sure my son got better helmet, (don't let coaches tell you there is no difference in helmets because there is) shock doctor chin strap and mouth guard. Anyway I could help prevent concussions I was going to try. And thank the lord he didn't have injuries this year.

Ban all Football players from Schools. Or is it the ball we should ban. For Gods sake we have to ban something here. Oh not me lol

I'm not sure which one's on the team are mine so I try to be nice to all of them. |

Funny how that works lol |

Good one!! See, you're too quick - those bumps on your head worked in your favor. |

I let my daughter play on some playground equipment when it was misty outside and she slipped and took a hard fall. Her injury was not severe but I was very scared and I still feel guilty that I let her play on the moist equipment. Not anymore! With all the injuries on playgrounds, it is almost silly that we still build them in every community, but the kids do love them and get good exercise. Just dont let them play if wet, I wish I wouldn't have!
