i was a punahou student, am an alum, faculty member and parent. my parents graduated from campbell (well, one of them did...) my brother went to st. louis....

alice, i'm proud for you that you are attending uh-- but am very ashamed that you speak with such authority about punahou. sadly, you're really not expressing anything novel...these prejudices run deep and wide; and, frankly, i'm tired of it. you should think about the expectations your stereotypes create and how ignorant you present yourself when you attribute your opinions to other's "facts."

i encourage you to take a semester exchange with one of the schools that reciprocate with uh--- uw or scc in seattle, for example. perhaps some broadening experiences would help to support your maturity (ability to view other perspectives,) and give you some appreciation.

please also google punahou's PUEO program..........

Alice, you've been here for what?-- a couple years?-- and yet you presume to know & understand everything about Hawaii and its nuances? Typical newcomer arrogance, and also typical of your everyday college kid who thinks he/she suddenly has it all figured out.

Oh well, as you grow up, life will humble you...

umm..I am from North Dakota hon and I do not need your instruction. Punahou is an overrated school. Its classes are public school sized and it is trying to hang its fading academic reputation on its football team. That is wrong. I have been here a year but I read everything and I know that Punahou is not liked by many in this town. The football team is not capable of doing academic work and you have waived standard avademmic standards as St. Louis has. Both of you are in decline although St. Louis is beyond any hope now. And why was Punahou laughing at wainae after that game? At least the Seariders are honest folks.

Once again, oblivious to your own ignorance.

So being from North Dakota suddenly makes you a person of the world?? Beyond laughter.

As far as your blanket statement about Waianae being "honest folk"? There are definitely honest people at Waianae... as well as Punahou, St. Louis, etc. But to make these blanket characterizations about people's character as a whole based solely on what high school they attended? Are you truly that stupid, Alice? Talk to some people, especially from private schools, who have played against Waianae in the past. You'll find that not all Waianae players are "honest folk," dear.

Your ego totally blinds you to your own ignorance. Funny, but scary.

Same Old is right. Alice you are a pretentious little know-it-all full of contradictions, your self, and bs. You never attended a Hawaii public or private high school, and your "read everything" reminds me of my ex-wife who thinks she is an expert on everything because she watches Jerry Springer. You are poorly reared because you haven't learned to express your opinion without insulting people or things you are not qualified to speak authoritatively about. You are a dime a dozen- there are so many entitled little know-it-all ungrateful late teen to twenties out there- sheesh- don't think you are special because you are common.

What ever you guys write about her makes her feel good, she feeds off the attention you give her, did not have any when she was a child from her parents.

The best solution is not to write back to her but ignore her comments, she has no heart to really understand anyways.

She reminds me like a mosquito, very irratating and always buzzing around.

Look, Punahou is just an average school by North Dakota standards. They have way too biig classes and are overrpiced. I tend to favor honest public schools where people like me make their way and do what they can to compete with inferior faciltiies. I hope that Manly at leileihua punishes Punahou for its poor academics and arrogance. Punahou should never have ridiculed Waianae.
