We can finally say, "Let the games begin". While the OIA West is playing interleague with the ILH, the OIA East starts regular season play. Kaimuki vs. Castle should be a great game, as well as Kahuku vs. Kailua. Going down 0-1 with all this parity should make for a great season and down to the wire finish for seeding purposes.

Iolani vs Leilehua will be a good game to watch. We'll get to see if leilehua is worthy of their #2 ranking going up against the states top quarterback... Marciel.

Kamehameha should be at the one spot for beating no.4 rank Kahuku. How is highly hyped Hiiliard going to run when all five starting lineman graduated last season. Sounds like they have only Manti on defense. When they lose this week Waianae should replace them at the no. 1 ranking.

Were you sleeping during last weeks game? Red Raider need to stop arguing amongst themselves. After Ho's performance, you need to consider Kam a threat to the Puns and the Saints. In a few weeks we'll find out who's at the top.

Punahou is of no interest or relevance to the community hon. I still love that the cute 12 year old haole from leileihua High smashed the arrogant, swaggering St. Louis players in the state championship.

Alice please explain how Punahou is of no interest to the community? More Olympiads have come out of there than any other school in Hawaii. Don't be such a hater.

I went to a real prep school-Exeter- and so Punahou does not impress me. I think too many make more of that place thna it is. I also think Punahou changing its entrance standards to accommodate "jocks" is ludicrous. We don't need another Warrior team of hired thugs and students who can't make the grade. Read Honolulu magazine on this matter this week.

Is that so? Exeter, your grammar and spelling is atrocious. Punahou has not compromised its entrance standards.

I doubt you attended PEA. I did (Class of '02) and your representation of the Academy is terrible. Why are you bashing one of the best College Prep Schools in the country on a community newspaper comment forum? Why don't we celebrate their success, along with the success of every High School team. As long as I've been in Hawaii, I see a constant "Crabs in the bucket" mentality. Why do we keep pulling the best down, instead of letting the best raise us all? Keep it Positive. Arrogance has no place in High School athletics.

Lots of hate out there for Punahou. Does anybody know... Did you not get in or even apply. Why the hate. I think every school in Hawaii is great in their own way. Can't we all just get along...

I grew up in North Dakota and went one year to Exeter. I have nothing against Punahou. I was merely responding to someone noting that Punahou compromised its standards to be competitive on the football field as it had in the 1950's-mid 1970's. I just think that is the wrong way to go.

I agree with oregon man. Manley destroyed St. Louis in the sate championship game. Punahou tried to buy his services i am told, but Manley turned them down. Good for him!
