Sloppy Football
Sacramento, CA
|
Defense didn't play the ball, they played their man like zone basketball, never put up hands when the QB pumped or a kicker kicked. Linebackers were waiting for the Daily Democrat to take their picture. Defense never zeroed in on the ball to strip it, sloppy tackles, one armed tackes, no in the number heads up tackles, like they were afraid of getting hurt. Time for a new defensive coordinator. Too many clean jersyd on the sidelines. Who was the Defensive Captain? Why didn't he fire them up?
As Vince Lombardi said as he held up a football, "This is a football." It's time to get back to basics.

Personally, I was incredibly embarrassed by the comments being yelled by a few of the parents. Yelling at referees and at the coach on the sidelines is classless and makes our fans look ridiculous. Let the coaches coach and take care of any issues with the officials. It's OK to disagree a little with some of the calls, but calling the refs names and threatening them is stupid. If you need to make your feelings known, keep it positive and cheer for the boys. Sometimes it seems like we have a group of parents who are trying to relive their glory days.
As far as the defense goes, they did fine- they were missing a player, but they held the line (did you notice the size of the Rio o-line compared to the Woodland d-line?). You sound like the parent who has been frequenting these boards complaining about everything having to do with WHS football.
You sound bitter- try a little positive reaction from time to time- your slip is showing and I think I've figured out who you are...

Doesn't anyone understand? It is ALWAYS somebody else's fault when a team loses. The officials. The coach. The crowd. It is never the fault of the losing team that just didn't score enough points to "win." Because that's the ONLY thing that counts. Not the sport. Not the teamwork. Not anything but WIN. Win at all cost is what is known as the "Little League Syndrome." Win or else. But if you don't "win" it will be somebody else's fault. That way you didn't "lose." THEY caused it.

If the parent would keep there mouth shut and let the kids play then it would be fine. Sounds liek the parent's are a little immature.

I've been to a Pioneer game. "Much more class"? I didn't see it. This has been about "spectator behavior". Let the players play, coaches coach and ref's officiate. Spectators should be exactly that...and cheer and encourage and offer a positive voice. It's called "GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP!!!"

Staff or Staph
Sacramento, CA

Is it a Staff Infection or a Staph Infection? What kind of player would expose his team mates to a staph infection, 3 have it with a possibility of a 4th being infected.
Clearly the Staff must do something about the Staph.
