Nice job Calabasas on winning a game. It's always been hard to field a good team at Cbas because a lot of the athletes want to play for the baseball program. Chalk that up to years of bad coaching and leadership from a certain Coach we use to call LDog. At least when i played we could put 30 people on the team. With just 20 thats a challenge but stranger things have happened. Good Luck Caoch Martin! P.S. If students dont respect the team allow the players to make them respect the team, show the student body that they cant be pushed around and maybe more kids will feel comfortable joining the team. All i can say is when i played there were always fights and those are not good but they bond a team and then outsiders want to become part of that bond.

you should write an article on how much dedication and inspiration all of the alumni coaches, such as Ezra Butler, Alex Rosenblum, and Kieth Barret, have put into this team as well and how much these 20 athletes look up to them. Martin is not just a one man show. -A true Coyote fan.

Seriously, where is the recruiting. There are 120 or so kids that share the field at Calabasas on a nightly basis. Where is the "Calabasas High" clinic or coaching instruction? Those kids that play pop warner up there are impressionable, want to play somewhere and he does not even stop by the older practices and introduce himself or his staff. Too bad, most of them end up at ECR, Taft, or private school. He could do more and do it better, chooses not too! Good luck!

It's easy to play on a winning team. But it takes guts, passion, and determination to stick with a challenged team such as CHS Football. KUDOS to all the 4 year players who decided to stick it out for their Senior year and Congratulations on your fantastic win against Port Hueneme! You guys are the heart of what it's truly all about! Thanks for being the role models to all and playing even when most didn't believe in you! You believed in yourselves and guess what? The cream rose to the top! Way to go!

personally i think coach martin should have kept all the sophmore and freshman players on jv to develop there talent together. i understand that you have to present a varsity team but moving freshman and sophmores up isnt going to help win games. Kyle Zion, Michael Edwards and Matt Baynard should have stayed on jv so in the following years they would be a threat to the marmonte league.

It's easy to criticize the coaching staff and players from the stands. The kids that strap on the helmet and shoulder pads should be applauded for their guts and determination. The life lessons these boys are learning on the field can't be taught in any classroom. "Its not getting knocked down that counts, its weather you get back up. Good Luck CHS Football

i don't think you guys realize that martin sucks as a coach. he doesnt have any idea how to interact with his players. look how many guys left. not because practice was too hard (cuz its not). If we had any other coach we would have had a decent team and would have been able to compete and win 1 maybe 2 games in marmonte(which is extemely good by calabasas standards). if you don't believe me look at all the talent the team lost...justin cudworth-linebacker @ agoura, josh sackhiem linebacker @ newbury, andre sisk (RB) runs a 4.6 forty, xan hammar and yusef parray 2 big ass linemen who bench like 350+, these are only some of the guys who left. u'd know these guys if u went 2 calabasas; now most guys have transferred to other schools or are just sitting around wasting their talent...
