Miami Heat on verge of offer to James Jones
Following through on his vow to bolster his team's depth, Miami Heat President Pat Riley moved closer today to signing former University of Miami 3-point specialist James Jones to a free-agent contract.

wow great news for the heat nd i wanna know why pat riley made a qualify offer for chris quinn when you have super mario,marcus banks and Heat would now have to turn to the trade market to fill its voids at center and point guard why they should go for a center

Spoelstra said we had MArio ranked 12th on our draft board, and chaf ford had him 16 and almost every draft had him in the 1sr round. Boy, did we get a steal. I shook my head when I heard Chalmers was basically given away by the team that drafted him.

good move for the Heat...hey Kruzzy - stuff it! Shaq is an over the hill bum, Arizona is saddled with this BS artist & we have Marion to use as trade bait for maybe a center === it's looking better, a couple more trades & the Heat should surprise a lot of people this year.

Nice pickup by the Heat. The money is a little high though. Glad to see we arenot wasting any time this year. E Brand would have been great if were abl eto lure him down here. Saving money for 2010 ? Wade will get top dollar from us, but do we think w ecan lure LeBron, Carmello, CBosch. Get real. Get the players now !!

The Heat is on fire! First, they were the best team in the draft, now they bring home a former 'Cane with skills they really need. Cant beat that. Get him signed right away!

Jones is a replacement for Ricky Davis; nothing more. Marion isn't going anywhere.
they can keep Wade, Marion, & Beasely and still have max dollars for a FA in 2010. I just don't know how they get a Center. We need a shot blocker. Haywood, Mihm or Przybilla interest anyone? didn't think so... |

i think pat should go after Patrick O'Bryant he's a pretty good young center he could be a tyson chandler type guy. super mario,dwade,marion,beastley,pa trick O'Bryant reserve marcus banks.dcook,dwright,jjones,zo. and garbage players
