There is no way the Vikings would give up a 2nd rounder for a guy with 1-3 years left in the league. Maybe a 3rd and a 7th. Picks are valuable commodities.

No amount of talent will replace good coaching. Ziggy isn't going to spend the money on a player when he is probably going to be shelling out for a new coach soon (IMO).

I was thinking the same thing when I heard about Tony's desire to be traded. Shank-O was upstaged by Jimmy K. on that long pass and run, but who ever watches Jimmy in pass coverage? Tony would without a doubt help this team in the short run, but a second rounder for a 32 year old is a bit much. Remember, Shockey is 28, so he should be worth more in trade.

Let's face it they could bring in Peyton Manning, Randy Moss and Tony Gonzalez but with Klink as coach it would make absolutely no difference. Until he is gone this franchise is going nowhere.

should go pick him up, send them the bust from the NY gaints I dont even know his name he's so bad, cant catch and not very tough in traffic. Otherwise, go back and ask Steve Jordan to come out of retirement. He was awesome.

I agree, sir. Gonzalez would definitely open up things with this offense; thus, defenses would have to be more respectful of both the running and the passing game. But, as you said, with Klink and Bevell doing their thing, it won't make a difference. Schottenheimer, Billick, Cowher, even Fassel...Come on, Zygi, the coaches are out there; take your pick. You've spent the money on the players, now spend it on a "good" coach...Go Vikings!!!

What you need is a head coach first, then, a solid, motivational group of assistants - then a QB. This moron organization just doesn't get the fact that the QB is THE most important position on the field, and can't seem to understand the incontrovertible fact that they don't have one! The way they draft and target free agants, you'd think they were all set to go at QB. I don't think so, idiots.

Maybe Shianoe and $3 would get us something more than what we have. Wiggins was better by far than the Shank and we dealt him away for peanuts. Paid dearly for the Shank. Who should step up for this misfire? If the Vikes play next week like we played today, we are dead meat. I love Gus but realisticaly, not much improvement over TJ when you consider TJ's ability to run to the markers.

Just validates what I've said in the past about Kleinsasser. A waste that he's not used correctly often enough in Klink's "system". But then again, most players aren't used "correctly" by Klink...

Let's call New England, maybe they will trade Moss to us. Let's call Dallas, maybe they will trade Tony Romo. Let's call Tennessee, maybe we can get Haynesworth, Let's call the Giants maybe we can get Plax. Who wouldn't want to play here for this great team and this winner coach! We are such a great team. BARF!

tony has one of the greatest TE's ever to play but, like a lot of people have said, he probably isn't going to make a hell of a difference in clink's pathetic offense. i like garret mills personally, and jimmy kliensausage has always been one of my favorite vikings that has been historically underutilized. then again, you replace shaincoe with tony play for play, and things would have probably been a little different in a few games this year. a QB would probably also be a better idea.

Sure seems like a guy like Gonzalez would open up the field for AP. But he did say he wanted to go to a contender. We have some big games to win before we are at that level. Sounds like the Giants are considering him?

Sansavere. Are you nuts? Why trade picks when nobody can coach anything in Minnesota? After getting Berrian, Allen, Williams, etc., etc. You really think getting this guy will make a difference. After we fire Childress, we will need our picks.

I try not to listen to Sansavere, or read anything he writes. This article reminded me of why. I promise myself I'll never slip again.

The Vikings won't go anywhere with Gonzales, he isn't the only answer and no quick fix is for that matter. The Vikings Offense isn't very good to begin with. Other teams stuff up the box with 8-10 players at any given time when Adrian is in, the Defense thinks run and then go into man to man because they know the Vikes Receivers are solid #2's and #3 rated, with no main go to Receiver other than Berrian, and hes as solid #2 as it gets. Berrian isn't built to go deep physically and neither is Wade and Ferguson is to old to go deep but the way I see it, their giving us the entertainment anyway. The Vikes need those draft picks next spring, not small time but big time, they need a go to Receiver, end of story. They also might consider the thought of letting Booty play if the Vikings start a losing streak.
