The US needs to stay home. These infections, as stated in numerous publications, are typical throughout Asia. Additionally, the doctors in China were trained in accordance with the schools set up by Rockefeller, Yale, etc.

Perhaps, it is time, long past time to call in the big guns of Chinese medicine. It was the decisive factor in survival and prevention in SARS. Without it, SARS, may indeed have become the feared epidemic it never was.

Sad when someone offers to help, but are turned down because of politics. Why are politics more important than human life? Just look at Burma! Doing the same thing with western aid.

It's fine to be proud, but too much pride can blind you.

Yeah, sadly to hear that, if US open the border, imagine thousand milles away across the Pacific Ocean, peoples will hang on the ship anchor to West illegally.

Paradise of the Socialist ?
Oh, I recalled last year or 2 years ago, one of the China's head of Health or Food Dept. get execution/shot because his Dept wasn't do any good. No confirmation he was executed or may be someone else wore his clothe and die for him then all of the organs put on Medical sale or so ?

Too many controversy from Communists ?

Better read up on the files in the WHO site- www.who.int

SARS was greatly contained by chinese medicine as a preventative and a curative.
Maybe, you need to remind the US of the value of a life---more than 30, 000 in a much lesser population die of the flu every year without considering medicines and those doctors who practice them who could prevent the tragedy.

It is interesting that I was watching news from Canadian and American channels regarding Burma disaster. The American and Canadian channels are busy on blaming Burma government. But when I read from internet, the whole world - China, Japan, India ... are busy on helping this nation with rescue crews, medicines, foods, water, equipment ... etc.

Don't people should feel shame on such a bad behavoir that someone else are busy doing the job but they are busy on blaming?

Seeing as American aid was turned away, you figure that news should be somehow covered up?

But, Luf, this is unfortunately resultant of the strict dichotomy, Canada and the US set up- Us and other.

If the US and Canada could just get passed that, perhaps, there would be more solutions, less hierarchy and truly global participation.

In the end, it will be China and ASEAN countries that provide most of the assistance, while western countries and their media do all the talking.

Free Tibet!
First, the US Government has unsincere motives toward Myanmar. They want to help us with their two Aircraft Carriers off the coast of Thailand with many Fighter Bombers on board. It is known to everybody that the US hates the Myanmar Government and want to topple it, to be replaced by Aung San Suukyi who is very much pro Western.
Second, what does "Free Tibet" relate with natural disaster in Myanmar ? Very absurd.

New reports of generals confinscating the aid and using it for their own devices doesn't change your opinion on this issue?

Surely, if anyone had any heart, they would let the people with the most efficiency hand out the food and not based on political posturing.

It should also be noted that the US has a habit of providing aid with strings attached, hidden political agendas, tools of neo-colonialism, etc. In Asia, of course, sincerity of mind/heart is always judged. Think about how brightly these insincere aspects illuminate themselves.

If aid is truly humanitarian, it shouldn't matter whose name is on it or if it is even on it. All that should matter is that someone is helped or benefits. Giving is an extension of the heart.
