But you left with the satisfaction of knowing Clay Richards appreciated your money. You can't buy that type of happiness.

game in that dome???

and to the previous poster can't agree more. Just be glad you don't have season tickets because you can't even give them away this year.
I was a season ticket holder for many years and lost a ton of money in 2007 when I couldn't even give tickets away that horrible season.

I can't wait until they shut down the Twinkie Dome and donate it to the Mike Ditka museum. "It's off the baggie in right" is about the unpurest term in all of baseball. It's too bad you can't win championships with moral victories. It's a good sign that this team doesn't give up but a loss is a loss. At least this year they don't play back to back series in Minneapolis followed by four in Toronto. That was ugly. Oh well... come back and get 'em Saturday. At least Saturdays game isn't going to be televised nationaly.

If I have said it once I have said it 100 times. You cannot walk the first 4 batters you face and expect to win the game. Rack em up lets play again.

What another genius move Oswaldo made by altering his pitching rotation so he could pitch Richard in a very winnable game against the pathetic Indians in order to have Danks face and beat the Twinkies. Oh wait, they didn't beat the Twinkies. They scored 8 runs against Cleveland and lost that game too because that joke of a pitcher, Richard, blows. I guess in Oswaldo's mind a win against Minnesota counts more than a win against Cleveland. I didn't know that the number of wins didn't matter in a divisional race. According to Oswaldo, it's not how many you win, it's who you beat, I guess. Cleveland was set up to be swept and Oswaldo blew that opportunity by pitching Richard on 3-days rest. Good managers play them one game at a time and don't worry about the next series. The Twinkees must have Oswaldo psyched out. If the Sox lose the division title by one game, you can all point to the Cleveland game they lost this week. I am pretty sure Danks would have beaten Cleveland if the the Sox scored 8 runs for him. 10 runs wouldn't have been enough for Richard.
Also, great in game move by Oswaldo tonight not walking Mauer after getting ahead in the count against Thornton. Mauer was looking fast ball, got it, ball game. I guess Oswaldo didn't realize that the next hitter, Morneau, was 3 - 18 lifetime against Thornton. Steve Stone and Hawk knew it. Perhaps Oswaldo was too busy munching on his sunflower seeds and joking with Joey Cora to pay attention to stats and scouting reports.
You know, the more I watch the Sox, I think they would be a pretty good team if they had a manager with a brain. Give this team to Ron Gardenhire and they would be 5 games in first place right now. Also, maybe some free agents would want to come and play for the Sox if Oswaldo wasn't the manager.
That, of course, would depend if Kenny Williams would stop blaming the fans and their lack of support for not being able to spend money on free agents or make quality trades. Williams had a horrible off-season by only adding garbage to an already flawed roster and he can't understand why the fans are not lining up to buy tickets and drink his Kool Ade. Like Duh!!!!!! World Series Championship or not, I think Oswaldo and Kenny should be the co-stars in the next "Dumb & Dumber" movie.
Great point indeed....Oswaldo deserves to lose this series...he doesn't care....if he cared, any manager with half his wits would have walked Mauer in that situation...as I said before the game....DO NOT PITCH TO MAUER OR MORNEAU WITH FIRST BASE OPEN!

And I better not see Thome in a Chicago uni next year...dude is sooooo done. Gramps just can't run or swing it anymore. Good career, MOVE ON!

What kind of an "Ace" pitcher walks the first four batters he faces? Your job Mr. Danks is to throw strikes. I thought you were under the tutelage of Buerhle who throws strikes, works fast, and limits baserunners. How do you get to the Bigs and cannot adjust once the game starts? Why do you have problems with certain pitches-you either have control of them or you don't, if you don't work on them daily until you have them in your arsenal.
Dotel walks the leadoff-man who, of course moves quickly around to score and Ozzie praises the Twins for "how they play the game" Ozzie it is your team for 6 years and 6 spring training sessions and you are still whining because you can't teach those skills to your players.
Steve Stone is saying he would walk Mauer and face Morneau, Hawk says the opposite as Mauer singles up the middle for the go-ahead run.
We have runners on 2nd and third with one out and can only score one run because our well-trained hitters can't execute.
When is someone going to tell Jenks "throw the ball over the plate at 98 MPH and quit nibbling". Watch Joe Nathan and learn how to be a"closer".
Pods surprised me with his catch racing in from center but Wise certainly did not surprise me with another 0'fer.
Thank God Getz and Beckham are improving.

After all of the games against the Twins, you would think those two would have learned something by now. The Twins are almost the exact opposite of the Sox.
You mean the Twins that finished second to the Sox last year?

Sure you can...
Not often, but you can.
And the Sox would have won that game last night had Cuddyer not made that brilliant grab on Getz.
I was hoping Danks was mature enough to not go into the home of the enemy and wet the bed.
I'm also hoping Dotel can get away from his habit of walking lead-off men.

I'm pretty sure Hawk agreed with Stone on the Mauer/Morneau thing.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Scorpio

It will be easy to let things get on top of you today, especially if you're already feeling rather tired and listless. Do yourself a favor and keep away from anyone who often makes you feel a bit fed up or defensive, because they're the last person you want to be around at the moment. They'll make your spirits sink down to your ankles in a flash, and who needs that?
