Ok man, enjoy your nc while you can...you may end up like the gators did this year. Not that it matters to you, but it does to us,we have a 5-2 BCS bowl record in the past 7 years. Three nc appearance with a 1-2 record. I'll put an * on this years game, cause EVERYBODY that was supposed to be ALL THAT wasn't. The Buckeye's weren't even supposed to win the Big 10, but thanks again to all you SUPER teams losing 2 or more regular season games, we rose. It was a rebuilding year for us, we have all but one junior coming back this year along with a top 3 recruiting class...so talk trash while you can my friend, your fall will be hard! GO BUCKS!!!Wow, so soon after the azz raping they took two years in a row, OSU should focus on moving down to Div 2A and leave the BCS and bowl games to the teams that actually play hard nose football, and yes of course OSU will be good next year, they play NOBODY, its been proven two years running and they will get their azz ripped wide open again.......OSU sucks, plain and simple, good luck in the weedeater bowl cause thats about where they deserve!

Actually when you think about it, you can't rank a schedule until that season is done with. Just because a team on a schedule has a sub-par record for the last season doesn't mean that the season that has yet to be played is weak. Coach Tressel is 0-2, not 0-9 against SEC teams. Wow, you guys, the season is over, put an * on the WHOLE SEASON, EVERYONE that was supposed to be ALL THAT, lost 2 to 3 games, the Buckeyes weren't supposed to win the BIG 10, so whatever you guys have to say is really on you, you SUPER TEAMS win, at best the Buckeyes would be in the Rose Bowl....turn the page, get a life....GO BUCKS, we'll be back....don't care if you don't like it or not.......GO BUCKS!!!! |

You are so right. It wasn't our fault all of the top teams unravelled at the end of the season. That not only pushed us up it let the #7 team into the game. So we both got into the NC game by default. That being said, LSU was able to adjust and we weren't. We made way to many mistakes and that did us in. Congrats to them. On to next season!!! I just hope the Bucks take advantage of the talent coming back. Looking forward to another great season of Buckeye football. The Bucks sure seem to always lock and load don't they? Go Bucks!!!! |

I hate me some trojans dawg, but to say that UT or Florida might be able to beat them is some funny sh*t. LOL! I actually think that UGA would have the best shot, even over the beloved LSU Tigers. |

Do you count Ohio State in that unravalling? The Buckeyes lost their second to last game of the season at home, but still managed to jump from #3 to #1. Given that pre-BCS selection week, if #7 LSU beat you, imagine what #4 Georgia could have done. |

I guess you only saw what you wanted to see. I said...not only did it push us up it pushed #7 LSU up also. We both got in by default. I said that too. LSU deserved to win.....gain I have said that too. |

Yes we did lose our second to the last game at home. Just like LSU lost on the 23rd to Arkie, at home. And if I recall, it was their last game. But I am sure that it dosn't count because it only counts when OSU loses. It isn't a fair system, and a lot of very good teams got left out. I wish Georgia the best of luck for a great season next year. |

Actually, LSU lost their final regular season game, before beating Tennessee in the SEC Championship game. Basically I was pointing out that after then #1 Missouri and #2 West Virginia lost, then #3 Ohio State and #4 Georgia - who had both finished their regular seasons and did not play on that weekend - were in position to move up to #1 and #2 respectively. Unfortunately it didn't pan out that way; Ohio State moved up to #1 and Georgia dropped down to #5 after LSU, Oklahoma, and Virginia Tech had all won their conference championships. Woulda, shoulda, coulda... it's all over with, LSU won the BCS Championship, and Ohio State finished off another great season with another conference championship. You're right though; the system isn't fair, which is why so many college football fans want a playoff, so these types of arguments can be settled on the field. |
|
They need to implement sum NFL-type stuff for the BCS to work out. I know they're making all this money off the BCS but at least try a playoff system to see how it works.

I don't remember a season any crazier than this past season. By the end of the season usually there had been a pretty clear #1 &2. You're right lots of coulda, shoulda, woulda's this year. I don't know what the future will hold but hopefully a better outcome will happen. I have no clue as to how this can be fixed. Just an old gal who loves her Bucks and college football in general. I'll leave that to those who know much more about footbal than I. |

If you're a college football fan, who wants to see the champion be the team who wanted it most, played hardest, and was the last team standing after an 8 or 16-team playoff, then you know all you need to know. Think of all the national championships that have been won in over 100 years of college football; the number of times a championship was split between two teams; the years like this one where there were a good group of teams who could have won a championship or previous years. Think about all of that and imagine how much more a championship would mean if your team kept winning and winning... then there were four, then there were two, and then there was only one. I hate to sound cliche here, but as the Highlander once put it, "There can be only one!" If LSU had won the title this year after an 8 or 16-team playoff, there would be no one (or a very bitter few) saying after the fact that some other team deserved it: not taking anything away from their win, by the way - they did deserve it, but a playoff would make any championship rock-solid. |
Tressel has never beat the SEC in a bowl game, not just the past 2 years, ever....as far as schedule strength goes, i promise that OSU will have a substantially weaker schedule after the season then does Georgia, LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky....some things are a given. I am at a loss for why people keep giving OSU the top 5 ranking every year when 1. There schedule strength does not show them deserving, and 2. They collapse or barely get by when they play proven top tier teams. The SEC is the best in the country, hands down, you cant deny it, and im glad that some people are finally coming around to this realization. The PAC-10 is good, ACC is good, Big 12 is good, then, and only after discussion of the previously mentioned confrences can you begin to discuss the Big10. The Big10 has historically good teams, but recent past is not showing them to be quite what everyone wants them to be, and next year, IF the Bulldogs can make it through the SEC they will also demolish OSU, who should lose to USC, but past that, if they're a team thats anywhere near a top tier program that should be there only lose until the national championship, then we'll be right back here talking about how great they'll be next year |

Never say never, time changes EVERYTHING, what a differance a year makes, just ask the gators, beaten by Michigan? A team that lost to a Div 2 team? Who hadn't won a bowl game in 5 years? How hasn't beaten Ohio State in 5 years? Don't let your hate blind you youngman...Keep living youngman, NOTHING stays the same, remember that! GO BUCKS!!! |
|
Bring on USC. They are the most dominant team of this decade. I'll give 'em their props for that. They are like 5-1 in BCS bowls. OSU and USC would be a very good match up.

So right, there can only be "one". I agree with you that there would be bitter people no matter what. I love my Buckeyes, will till the end...and then some LOL. And there's a new season ahead. Who knows what that will hold? Already got my usher gear ready!!!! Nothing like it. Have a good day. |

To all you stiffs who hate the Bucks. LSU won because of our mistakes. The great Tigers beat a young team that was not even marked at the beginning of last season to make it to a BCS game--but we did, the championship. Bash the Big Ten if you will. But the truth is that our teams matched up well this year with SEC teams. Wisconsin, barely lost, Michigan manhandled the Gators, and OSU won in every aspect of the game except the score/turn over margin/favorable calls. But we Big Ten fans understand that SEC fans need a false sense of superiority to feel good about yourself. But one thing is certain about Big Ten fans--we don't cry, we multiply. We're in your towns, villages, cities and states. We're in your dreams. SEC could not exist if there was not an OSU and Big Ten. Go Bucks!

Hi OSUMOM, my only concern is the coaches. We clearly need better special teams coaches and a coaching system that knows how to adjust. We don't adjust, we just fall apart. Like I said before, the talent is there, the NFL knows it, we know it, but our coaching needs a MAJOR remodeling. Its a mind thing with us, we do stupid things, we lose games, both games we lost this year were due to stupid mistakes and turnovers, dropped passes, dropped interceptions, blocked fg and some pretty questionable calls, allowing an offense to stay on the field for 8+ minutes, not using our running game, but it entirely on us or not getting an offense off the field. My suggestion? Get a NFL defensive coach and special teams coach in here. Its not like OSU doesn't have the $$$. We have the best facilities $$$$ can buy. Its time to get the best coaches $$$$ can buy and a mindset that if your behind, don't panic, PLAY the game. Always faithful, born a Buckeye, always and forever a Buckeye, but its time to get it together. GO BUCKS!!!!! |
