At work, eating lunch at my desk, clicked on this story. I cannot believe the response by you sorry losers. In fact, I can never believe most of the responses to stories - people are sooooo mean. But I think intelligence may play into it - "seeked" medical attention. No such word "retard" it's sought.

What The wrote: Stupid kid. Shouldn't he be studying? No wonder we are lagging behind India and China with such retarded kids (and parents). Just wondering where in the article it mentioned that he wasn't studying while wearing the Favre jersey.

I was (and still) one of the biggest Michael Jordan fans growing up in a Chicago suburb. I had T-shirts, a jersey, shoes, basketballs, you name it!
Sure, I'd wear a Bulls jersey (or T-shirt) to school maybe once a week or so. Everyday in middle school (1993-ish), you could find many kids wearing a Jordan (or other Bulls jersey) any given day of the school year!
However, to wear the same jersey everyday for 4 years is a little obsessive, no matter how old somebody is! Back when I was a kid, I never thought about wearing the same jersey (or clothes) more than 2 days in a row!
I'll admit there were times when I'd wear the same pair of pants or shorts 2 or 3 days in a row, but 4 years?! Come on!
I agree with those who say the parents allowed it to get their "15 seconds of fame". Its pathetic these days what people will do to "just be the talk of the town".
Sure, Favre is a great role model, and a great football player. But, what does wearing a jersey for 4 years straight have to do with anything, other than have people guess "how often was it washed"?
I know when I was a kid, and saw the same kid wearing the same jersey EVERY DAY, you bet I'd be heckling him to change his shirt! I could also think of another 1000 kids that would tell him to do the same thing back then!
Obviously the kid demanded attention, as were his parents, by wearing the same jersey every day!
Why not commend poor, homeless people on the street who wear the same clothes every day? If the parents could afford to buy an official Favre jersey, I'm sure they could afford some other shirts.
If I knew a kid at school had plenty in his wardrobe, I'd heckle him. If he was a poor kid, then no, I wouldn't give him grief, because they may not have any other clothes!

WOW! I never knew that wearing a jersey for 4 years had anything to do with the way the kid was raised or that it affected the way he studied. I guess some people need to re-evaluate the way they raise their kids if they are commenting the way this child was raised. Not sure it really matters how long this kid wore the jersey. Leave the child and the family alone, obviously there was something special there, and don't be jealous that the story wasn't about your family.
I wonder if Farve ever intended on meeting this kid?

Reality wrote: <quoted text>Not impressed! Entire familys screwy. This was a little harsh. Just b.c the boy wore the jersey, doesn't mean the family is screwy. And by this comment, it usually means your family is more screwy, so stop being jealous of someone else's family and start paying attention to your own.
